Arsenal player ratings for win at Hull – Walcott MOTM

I know a lot of Arsenal fans will disagree with me but I am not picking Theo Walcott as my Man of the Match from the 4-1 thumping of Hull City just to be different. I have seen a lot of the papers going on about Alexis Sanchez but for me the Chilean was not at his best and should have scored the penalty after taking it from the usual man Cazorla. In fact the closest to Walcott for me were Francis Coquelin and Alex Iwobi but Theo got the nod because he really stretched Hull with his pace and movement and took hos goal very well.

Cech 6 – Rash tackle for penalty could have been costly.

Bellerin 7 – Excellent energy, attacking threat and defensive discipline.

Mustafi 7 – Looking like the real deal.

Koscielny 7 – Always in control.

Monreal 7 – Nullified their main threat with little help from Iwobi.

Coquelin 8 – Superb again from our midfield warrior. No wonder Xhaka is on the bench.

Cazorla 6 – Not the best game from the Spaniard who was lucky not to be sent off and looked tired.

Walcott 8.5 – Can be almost unplayable when he is like this.

Ozil 7 – Would have got a better score but for his missing a great chance.

Iwobi 8 – Very good from the youngster but he does neglect his tracking back too often.

Alexis 7.5 – Two goal and the second one was class and timely but still not convinced by him through the middle.

subs:
Xhaka 7 – Wow! What a strike and did well in general controlling the game from the middle.

Elneny and Perez – No time to make any impact.

Bob.

  1. I don’t know about this tbh, for me iwobi was the least frustrating(did you see his assist?!), walcott was good but definitely not at his best.

Ozil was Mr.Invisible once again, except for that poor miss(actually starting to doubt if he’s better than de’Bruyne); barely a 5/10 in my opinion.

As much as many would like to admit it. De Bruyne is a more well rounded player than Ozil. Just having the vision of a beautiful pass, is not enough, in my book…

I think my man Mustafi might need some contact lenses. A couple few times there dude went to head the ball and he missed by a mile, almost bustin his ace in the process…

      1. OT:
Mazzarri had numerous run-ins with Moureen during their time in Italy – with former Inter manager Mourinho saying the Italian was a hard-working “donkey” that would “never become a thoroughbred”.

Moureen is always having spats with different managers. Silly dude.

    2. Joke really. Ozil the worst player on the pitch rated higher than cazorla. Cazorla has to defend and create at the same time .
Honestly look at Kevin Debyrne Gundogan david silva. Look at what this guys are doing. That should be Ozil right there.
I Know there is a better player in there. He just has to bring it out. Right now Ozil is having a stinker.

If that is Walcott we shall all be hating. I have to take out my hat to theo. Best player this season. Defensively as well he is a beast and bellerin is never exposed. I am so happy for Walcott . he was always a good right winger before all the stupid striker talk began. Way to go son.

  2. It looks like Iwobi is going to get it on the official AFC site. For me it’s Alexis all the way. He’s a match winner and he showed it. In the last minutes he lost the ball, we had cover, but he still races back and wins the ball cleanly. Really top draw stuff from a true professional. Cazorla, it did worry me that he might get sent off, but not for Cazorla being nasty, more because refs like to even things sometimes. As for his general play, the forwards were receiving the ball in really good areas thanks to Cazorla as usual. Himself and Coquelin had a really top game, as a pair, they compliment each others game. For me Cazorla was certainly above Ozil yesterday. Walcott had a really good game, not quite as good as Iwobi in the creative sense, but looked every bit as dangerous. He defended better than the youngster too, so I think it’s fair that some would acknowledge it. (But Alexis for me)
    Alexis 8
    Iwobi 7.5
    Walcott 7.5
    Cazorla 7
    Coquelin 8
    Ozil 6.5

  3. United just lost 3-1 to Watfrod..
And to think people are whining here despite our 4-1 away win yesterday!

      1. That makes our win all the much sweeter. It wont be long now before mourinho tries to deflect it all onto Arsene.

    1. Agree. We should not be disappointed if we win by a close margin against any team. Big or small. All teams are equal, as all provide the same points. Man Utd lost to the same team we won against. So every win, no matter what the goal margins is very significant.

Something many refuse to admit or blatantly deny, is that any team can beat you, if you don’t turn up and fight for it…

  4. Personally I would give it to Alexis
Even Messi misses penalties, so i won’t hold that against him
Alexis scored two and he wasn’t in his best position

  5. Theo, Iwobi and Sanchez all played well. Özil was a worry though.

Well last year he started his run of 7 assists in 7 consecutive matches record on 26th of September (so that would mean GW 6, next week). Let’s hope he starts it against Chelsea!

Off topic but Iwobi’s got 3 assists in 3 matches and leads the Premier League in assists!

  6. When you take a penalty you make sure its in sanchez really messed that one up I was screaming to take carzola and sanchez off and luckily carzola didn’t get another yellow Iwobi recked my head but eventually he fixed it wollcott and Coquelin and Xhaka did very well but the whole team controlled the ball very well it was a well done job but should have been 3 goals up before half time very glad with the win I wanted a big win I eventually got it

  7. I’m genuinely shocked… Theo Walcott is our worse player by a mile. He miss-places passes, runs the ball into defenders and out of touch over and over again and his touch is awful. All he can do is run fast, which is useless when his brain can’t keep up.

Watch other players reactions when he loses it. None of our players pass to him unless they have to because they know he will just lose it! Should have sold him when we had the chance.

  8. Walcott unplayable lol goodness me and coquelin 8? Do ppl forgot that he is the D.M not Atccking Mid I can show about 7/8 clips where he has left the defence exposed do that against Chelsea and it will be a repeat of a couple of years ago 6-0 .

Rubbish ratings as per usual the defence should have easily kept a clean sheet against 10men but looked a shambles at times yet they get a 7 each lol bang average 5/6 the lot of them.

  9. Man United are planning to sue juventus for selling them a Chinese product called Zhougbha…… Bring it on nortighum…. Chelsea is a bridge we shall cross when we get to it
