Arsenal Transfer Rumour round-up – Bacca, Draxler, Diaz and Rice

We are less than a month away from the winter transfer window, so we thought we’d bring you a brief look at the latest speculation surrounding Arsenal.

We are linked with strikers in every single transfer window, and despite the arrival of Lucas Perez, paired with the uber-impressive switch of Alexis Sanchez into our centre-forward role, that doesn’t appear likely to change.

Carlos Bacca is believed to have been on the wishlist of Wenger previously, and following a string of falling-outs with AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella, his exit looks a likely one come January. We are claimed to be lining up a £20 Million bid to bring him to North London, but with Danny Welbeck, Lucas Perez, Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott all able to fill the role, will we really be looking at another strike-addition?

Another striker being linked with a move to the Emirates is Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz. The 23 year-old scored a hat-trick in the Copa Del Rey recently, and the player is claimed to have said he would be staying at his current club, unless a club ‘like Arsenal’ came in for him in January. I cant see him bringing much to our title bid this season, so I would put this on the back-burner for now.

Another player who we have been linked with previously is Julian Draxler, who has been described as a ‘long-term target’ of Arsene Wenger’s a number of times. The attacking talent has come under pressure from his club’s fans, having made his desire to join a bigger club public, and he has reaffirmed his stance on wishing to leave. Maybe he could he come into replace Alexis on the wing, with the Chilean given the permanent role ahead of Olivier Giroud?

A new name on our apparent wanted list is West Ham United’s youth prospect Declan Rice, who is supposedly being monitored by our club’s scouts. The 17 year-old is making his mark in the ?Under-23 development league for the Hammers, and could well be another winter target for our club, at least that is what reports claim.

Where do we need to be looking at for the coming window? Will Arsene be looking to add to the first-team squad next month?

  1. If we are looking for anyone it should be a replacement for Cazorla. Definitely won’t buy a striker.

    1. before any new signings we need to know where we stand with Sanchez and Ozil are they staying or leaving,

if they leave we would require the standard of players and they are both now world class it it would cost around 120 million to replace if you can find anyone

  2. We never get anyone big in January (in recent years anyway)
Clubs don’t like to sell midseason
We will either get nobody, average player or youth player who may become good in a few years.

Our best January transfers were Eleney, Gabriel, Kim Kallstrom (:-0), Monreal, Diaby, Eboue, Sol Campbell, Eboue, Vela, Walcott, Reyes, Eisfield, Arshavin

    1. By the sounds of it the fanbase is turning on draxler and bacca’s done something to upset the AC Manager. These sort of opportunistic signings are different as the club is willing to part with them. And in AC’s case, need to sell before they can buy.

  3. I heard from medias about the possible return of Fabrigas To Arsenal. If so, it will give sense as Cazorla is out for a longer time due to injury (his ankle surgery).

  4. If we can get Draxler, it would be nice. We can use him as winger and striker like Thierry Henry, Sanchez and Van Persie. He can be Sanchez’s competition.

  5. It is NOW or NEVER. Let’s GO and get Draxler he was born September 20, 1993 (age 23), Gladbeck, Germany
    Height: 1.87 m
    Weight: 72 kg
Young with a bright future, Quick and great shooter of the ball. it has been re confirmed that Arsenal best way of playing is with 3 pacers up front like we did against WHU or when we Destroyed UTD and CHELSKI. we can using him on the left and Theo on the right with Alexis as False 9. Giroud, Lucas and wellbeck as back up options depending on the opposition. I have said it before he can be a Thierry or Van P role if the defenders are taller then move Alexis to left and place Julian up front. spend 25 millions and then we do not have to lose a GEM like him to go for the EPL nor spend more money in attacking transfers 2017-2018 season.
