Arsenal transfer rumour round-up – PEA, Laxalt, Schendelaar – Yaya wanted?

The rumour mill never stops, but as we draw nearer and nearer to the winter window there is much more speculation doing the rounds regarding Arsenal.

The biggest one of the week comes with claims we are set to launch a big-money move to bring in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund. His club are said to be unwilling to consider their star-striker’s exit in the coming window, but are also said to be open to a big money sale come the end of the season. Real Madrid have also been strongly linked with his signature, but with Alvaro Morata and Karim Benzema currently vying for the striker role at the Bernabeu, they may struggle to accommodate him.

Diego Laxalt is another attacking player who is believed to be of interest to us. The advanced playmaker has been linked with Chelsea as a potential replacement for Oscar, but I can’t see any need for another of that type to the Blues in their new formation. I can’t imagine them challenging us if we were to decide he would be a good addition to our squad. This left-footed playmaker has been impressing for Genoa in Serie A, and is not expected to carry a high fee should we make a move.

One future star who we are looking at is 16 year-old Jasper Schendelaar. The AZ Alkmaar youth goalkeeper is highly rated in Holland, and is already a regular in the Holland Under-17 side. Talks are already said to have taken place, and a deal is believed to be likely.

One player who we had hoped would emerge through our ranks previously is Yaya Sanogo. The 23 year-old is into the last year of his contract, and Leeds are tipped to make another move to sign him in the coming window. I can see no reason why we shouldn’t cut our losses with him.

Another player who could potentially quit the club is Jack Wilshere, who has been sent out on loan this year. He is spending the term with Bournemouth, and one of their defenders Steve Cook has stated he wants Jack’s stay with the Cherries extended.

Is Aubameyang the big-name signing our team has needed? Are Yaya and Jack done at Arsenal?

  1. this is not a rumour, just yet another attempt to publicly announce that arsenal still need a striker. there are no sources, the media have never confirmed anything based on rumors that hasn’t been confirmed by sky sports tv network first. Aubameyang is one of a few out there and will succumb to a less challenging league placing him firmly between barcelona or real madrid should any transfer be made official.

  2. More interested in players like Jenkinson (weak mentality )Debuchy (entitled ) one of Gibbs/Monreal (congestion) Mertesacker(congestion) leaving the club even in January. I strongly believe we will do much more better by sticking the Ox or Campbell at Left back over the current two we currently have, Monreal currently struggles with pacy players and Gibbs is just not a starting left back at a top club, Mert is a great guy to have around but He can always come back in a different capacity in the near future. As for Walcott and Ramsey, they need to either do away with their inconsistencies and that entitled mindset of theirs or they can just hit the road, we are interested in titles and not entitled brats, how many more Gnabrys are we supposed to lose for the sake of an inconsistent Walcott? As for Ozil, pay him what he wants and make commensurate demands of him namely he is not allowed more than two bad games a season ( and I don’t mean crucial games ) or else he will see the bench like any other inconsistent player, if he wants ballon d’or salary, we need ballon d’or performances from him on a consistent basis. At the current moment, only David Alaba and maybe, maybe Aubameyang (in place of Walcott primarily) represent an upgrade on what we currently have, Draxler is another inconsistent player but will take him at a marked down price though.

  3. I think it will be Arsenal/Arsene that can make the final decision on letting wishere leave or stay and not the other way.

And to me, jack has a future with us.
