Mesut Ozil urged to leave Arsenal if he wants to win titles…..

Arsene Wenger is regularly asked about the contract talks between Arsenal and Mesut Ozil, which will reach a critical point if the German midfielder has not put pen to paper by the time the summer transfer window arrives, and the latest person to pitch in with some advice for our assist king is the Germany legend Michael Ballack.

“Mesut is an amazing player. He knows that he is one of the undisputed stars at Arsenal. A lot of clubs would love to have him,” Ballack said. “He lives in London, one of the most beautiful cities ever. To this end, Arsenal is a club that has an incredible impact on the world.

“If you are a top player in England, the cult around you is bigger than in Germany. You are treated more respectfully, especially. These are all reasons for an extension.

“But if he wants to win a major title, he has a bigger chance to achieve that at Bayern.”

During earlier discussions, Ozil has implied that he wants to wait to find out if Arsenal can win any major titles this season, and also that he is waiting to find out what Arsene Wenger decides to do at the end of the season as well before making any decisions on his future.

Well right now it looks like the Premier League title is far out of reach, and of course the Gunners have the big test of competing with Bayern Munich to progress in the Champions League. If the German giants stamp their authority on Arsenal over the two legs, will that make Ozil more likely to push for a move away from the Emirates?

  1. Ballack knows how to get into Mesuts head, speak highly and have expectations for a huge game, and Mesut will blend in with the background, I think he’s a predator, preys on the weak. Ozil not Ballack.

  2. I am tired of all this speculation.

Ozil and Sanchez, if Arsenal can assure trophies for you guys please leave to a club that is willing to win things.

I don’t want any of them to leave but if the club ain’t showing ambitions and they feel they will find that else where then I won’t blame them.

We have been here before…..same situation, different players.

  3. Does Ozil want to win trophies, or does he just enjoy playing under a manager that allows him to play as he wants.
Sanchez gives his best every game – He shows character of a person that gets upset when the team looses or are playing below par, Ozil is a player of enormous talent but needs to have the same hunger that Sanchez has to win trophies…NO one player is bigger that an entire club.

    1. SIMPLE ANSWER: If Arsene the dope remains as manager then, for sure, Ozil will have to leave to win a league title.
