When I say just one January transfer, I do not mean that Arsenal only need to make one signing to give ourselves the best chance of lifting the Premier League trophy. I would like to see Arsene Wenger sign at least two more top quality players in January to be honest, but there is one transfer that could be more important than all the others and it is not even for a player.
The man we need, and are very close to getting according to a Metro report, is Steve Walsh. None the wiser? Well he is currently the chief scout for the current Premier League leaders and huge surprise package of the season Leicester City.
And while some of the individual players as well as the manager of the Foxes, Claudio Ranieri, have deserved great credit for their form, an underlying cause of their ability to challenge the big hitters in the division is the brilliant recruitment policy.
Walsh has been the driving force behind the transfer capture of real stars like Riyad Mahrez the hat-trick hero of last weekend, and while Wenger has made some brilliant signings of his own, we have been saying for years that the Frenchman needs help. It looks like he is about to get it in the shape of Steve Walsh, so will that one bit of business be the key to a successful end to the season for Arsenal?
