Arsenal put three players on the market to raise money for Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal remains determined to beat Manchester City to sign Bruno Guimaraes at the end of this season.

The Newcastle United midfielder is the subject of transfer interest from both clubs as Arsenal seeks to ensure they can compete with City on and off the field.

Mikel Arteta’s side is eager to improve its current squad, and Guimaraes also seems open to leaving if the right opportunity arises.

With PSG also eyeing the midfielder, Arsenal knows they may have to spend close to the amount they spent on Declan Rice to win the race for the Brazilian.

They are eager to secure his signature, and according to a report on Football Insider, Arsenal is willing to sell some of their fringe players to fund the move.

The report claims that Arsenal has opened the door for Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, and Eddie Nketiah to leave the Emirates.

Money made from their departure will easily fund the transfer for Guimaraes, whose release clause expires a month after the end of the season.

Just Arsenal Opinion

We have to make some sacrifices to sign the players that we want, and Guimaraes will be an expensive acquisition.

The players we have put on the market are individuals who we can sell and still have a good team, so it is a sacrifice worth making.

  1. Have two problems with this.

    – I don’t think ESR has done too badly when he’s come on despite his lack of game time.

    – I don’t think Bruno G fits into the type of personality MA likes in the squad. I think personality as well as talent are essential to MA.

  2. I dont get the hype with Bruno G And please don’t mention, Douglas Luiz. These are two players I’d love to avoid throwing money down the drain. Another centre-back would be good.

        1. Arteta must learn to look for talent else where with low prices coz Epl stars are expensive, there are many midlefielders in other league you can turn into stars,he must buy Viktor Gyoekeres and Odergaad and Saka backup elsewhere.

      1. Correct, news doesn’t come from the sky that’s why all of us have to look for it and where else can we get it if not the media? Club management go to the media for press conferences showing how important a role the media plays in disseminating information.

  3. Bruno G. would be what we need to replace Partey. A great passer, he can be creative when Odegaard needs a breather, He is tough as nails , he pummelled his own compatriot Jorginho so any more $hithousery on our team makes us tougher to play against.

  4. But he flies frequently to Paris so it looks like he wants PSG. And NO WAY will selling Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, and Eddie Nketiah get us the cash we need for Bruno. AFC doesn’t get much for their players when we sell – and that 3 didn’t increase their sale value much this year.

  5. I just hope we sell all three of them, they all deserve a chance to express themselves else where.
All three have stagnated over the past 3 or 4 years

My worry is Edu will price them out of the market.

I too am worried about bringing in Guimaraes. I do not think he is quick enough to be a top DM, let alone to replace Odegaard!!!,

I hope this is just a rumor to divert the opposition from our actual target.

  6. OT. I’m so very disappointed with our players out on loan. Was hoping those guys would turn out some credible performances that would put them on the shop window and fetch Arsenal some decent money to invest in the squad.
But the likes of Tierney, Lokonga and Tavares have preferred the cozy ambience of the treatment room to the action theatre of the playing field.
Result: come the start of next season and Arsenal would be carrying a bunch of players they won’t know what to with. Sigh!

  7. Guimaraes is a top class player but is not for us.

I firmly believe we are Zubimenfi first and foremost. Bruno G is far too exensive, given we need other positions improved upon too.

  8. Not sure on the price but Bruno and paqueta at west ham are fantastic midfielders playing in the league right now. Either one would take our team to the next level!

      1. both Bruno and Paqueta are #8 attacking midfield, we have plenty of those

what we need in the summer is at least fortress #6 defensive midfield

trying get an #8 to do #6 job does not work, needs to be a top top #6 first and foremost
