Do you think Marcus Rashford would fit into this Arsenal side?

Would you take Rashford at Arsenal?

England international and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has had an up and down season for the Red Devils. Last season was one of his best seasons regarding output for goals and assists, and was probably United’s best player. But this season he seems to have hit a shaky spell of form and hasn’t been able to produce the same kind of numbers he did last season.

United itself seems like a mess of a club at the moment and I think a lot of that stems from the culture at the club and the way it’s set up. This type of stuff always seeps through to the players and the whole club and I think that’s why Rashford’s form has taken such a dip. Last season he was playing mainly as a centre forward but was pretty much carrying a United team that looked completely lost.

It’s being reported by The Athletic that United would consider selling Rashford in the summer, if the right bid came in and if the player himself wanted that. Rashford has had his fair share of disciplinary issue’s this season, most notably the player going out drinking in Belfast and calling in sick the next day after being caught on camera. So he does come with a lot of baggage.

Not to mention the fact he is a born and bred Manchester United fan, he supports the club and has been there since he was a kid. It’s like the equivalent of Saka moving to United, but if we have the chance to sign him, should we take it?

Personally I think Rashford is a incredible player, and when he’s happy and at his best, he’s almost unstoppable. You see it in the England side and glimpses of it when he plays for United, he’s a pretty special player and under a manager like Arteta and a set up like Arsenal, I think he would thrive.

Although I do think he would be great for us, I don’t think he will end up coming this way and he might end up more trouble than it’s worth. But if the chance came along and he wanted to, I think we would be crazy not to have a go at bringing him in at the right price. He would definitely fit into this side well and with the right structure around him, we could see the best side of Rashford that he clearly seems to be lacking at the moment.

I seem to remember Trossard having problems with Brighton before we brought him in, and look how that turned out.

What’s your thoughts Gooners?

  1. Not for me Daisy Mae
You mention having the right structure around him but I’m not sure if you meant Arsenal structuring the squad around him or the change of structure at Arsenal being beneficial to Rashford

  2. I couldn’t care less as it won’t make a difference if he plays or not since he is no better or worse than anyone who plays instead of him.

  3. 1) proven 30 goal, PL experienced striker

    2) accomplished playing anywhere across the front three

    3) has played with Saka, Rice, ESR and others with England

    4) just about the right age profile, has humongous experience for his age

sure under performing in a poorly managed basket case club…hmmm, sound familiar

  4. I think the big question should be “Would you take Rashford at Arsenal for the right price”? It would be insane for any club to entertain offers in the region of €165 for a player who just doesn’t have the stats to back it up. Saka has scored twice as many goals this season and is still only worth €105m compared to Rashford’s €165. I would consider Rashford if he was on the market for £70-£80m though. I know he has a lot to offer still but the risk would be way too high at £140m IMO.

    1. oh agreed, never for that sort of money

yeah £70m seems a bit low, but he is not without risk, may never recover his form/head

it does feel like a situation where a new challenge, a new environment is needed, Rashford may come to the realisation that it is now or never, or risk becoming “what could have been”, or “a whatever happened to”, and push for an exit

that is the only way I see it happening at a reasonable price

more likely he replaces Mbappe at PSG for £100m, suits Man U much better in ever respect

  5. No thanks. One of the most over-rated players in the league. Can be decent, has his good days, but not top class.

  6. Presumably this article is a joke? Right? RASHFORD is, as plain as the nose on our face, never in a month of Sundays, not even in Harry Potter land, the sort of non committed player that MA would ever consider buying.

There is LESS THAN ZERO CHANCE.

ADMIN SAYS.. okay you could just say you don’t think it’s a good idea. No need for starting the insults again is there Jon

  7. Like the guy, except when he scores against Arsenal (which he do almost every time! So I guess I hate him). But he’s good, very. He’s a Man United player by heart, though. No chance.

  8. Marcus Rashford had a tremendous 22/23 season.

However, prior to the start of that season I believe he spent quite some time in the USofA.

Strangely, after spending some time in the good old USofA Mo Farrah would return and perform amazingly well in his races.

I just mention this in parting, but Rashford has looked like a dog this season, having only spent time in a bar in Ireland.

I wouldn’t touch Rashford just based upon his performances in the 22/23 season!!!!!

I would like to add a comment for this summer transfer season:
Arsenal desperately NEED a back up for both Odegaard and Saka.

We have been really lucky this season having so few injuries. We cannot afford to expect no injuries next season!!!!

  9. He’s made his decision not to join us earlier, so let him deal with his luck lusture performances, No way back. To be fair to him though, it’s a tough decision to leave United and join us or any other top English club.
