Arsenal among the clubs interested in top class 22-year-old striker

Arsenal are reported to be interested in signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembele along with Manchester United and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

The 22-year-old is fairly prolific scoring 87 goals in 192 appearances for Fulham, Celtic and Lyon and according to French news outlet L’Equipe is now firmly on the radar of some of Europe’s top clubs.

United have reportedly already tabled a bid of £43 Million and are said to be hopeful that their offer will be accepted.

However, our interest in the Frenchman is not new, we considered tabling a bid for him before his move to Ligue 1 last summer, but in the end decided against making an official offer.

Another factor to consider is Barcelona. They are not among the clubs wanting to sign Dembele but they are interested in signing Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann and our very own Alexandre Lacazette.

If the Spanish Champions land either player it means that a replacement will be required and the funds from the sale of Griezmann or Lacazette would be more than enough for us or Atletico to match United’s offer.

It should also be noted that United may well not be that attractive an option if they fail to make next season’s Champions League.

Dembele would be a great signing for us and while we are not considered one of the front runners that could easily change if we did lose Lacazette, and the fact that we are mentioned as interested does show they we are keeping all our options open.

This is one rumour to definitely keep an eye on.
