Hello again. In the English Premier League, we have always had teams that find it hard winning games in certain stadiums; and this is what makes the EPL fun. However, we have also seen situations where teams would go to a ground they have never won or not won in a long while, and rewrite history! This is exactly what the EPL is about. Making and breaking history.
On Saturday against Newcastle, Arsenal would look to continue their impressive home record against Newcastle, while Newcastle will be looking to rewrite history against an Arsenal team that is gearing to restart a winning run that was partially disrupted by Liverpool last weekend. Who will carry the day? Arsenal or Newcastle? My heart and my head tells me Arsenal would win the game, but then Newcastle is capable of spoiling the show for Arsenal, that is why Arsenal needs to watch it.
On Saturday, the game will be intense and is expected to be entertaining. Newcastle, under the management of new owners, would want to throw all they got against Arsenal, to announce their intentions to start mixing it up with the big clubs in the league.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will want to prove that the loss they recorded the last time they played, is not going to disrupt the new found rhythm in the team. With these two possible scenarios likely to come into play, then one cannot overemphasise how ticklish the game can be for Arsenal, if they don’t bring their A game to the party on Saturday. Hopefully, the boys know this already, if one is to put into consideration what Arteta said, during the pre match press conference, as reported by football.london.
Arteta was asked about Newcastle’s poor record at Arsenal’s ground and this was his response: “Let’s keep going, but this is a new game. Obviously there are some changes happening there, you can see the momentum that is building. It’s different, when you see the last game that they played as well, you see some different things… New manager, new coaching staff, so let’s be prepared.”
Arteta’s response summed up everything I just wrote. Let’s be prepared for a really tough game on Saturday.
