Dutch giants Ajax finds itself in a dire situation as they have slipped into the relegation zone in their league. This is quite a contrast from their semi-final appearance in the Champions League in 2019 and their recent league title victories.
The departure of Erik Ten Hag from the club has seemingly left Ajax facing a series of challenges, and their current season has gotten off to a particularly poor start.
The underwhelming performance has brought attention to their current manager, Maurice Steijn, who appears to be struggling to address the crisis the club is currently facing.
As a result, Ajax is reportedly in the search for a new manager who can help improve their fortunes. One of the potential candidates is Albert Stuivenberg, who serves as one of Mikel Arteta’s trusted coaching staff at Arsenal.
Stuivenberg has a long-standing working relationship with Arteta, and a journalist has suggested that he could be the right person to help Ajax navigate their current difficulties and turn their fortunes around.
Journalist Mikos Gouka said, as quoted by Voetbalzone:
“I don’t know whether he would do it, but Albert Stuivenberg, who sits very close to Arteta at Arsenal, would be someone who would teach football. But I have no idea whether he would want that.
“Stuivenberg was also with Van Gaal at Manchester United. I don’t know if it was 100% satisfactory on both sides, so I don’t want to suggest that they clashed, but he was no longer affiliated with Van Gaal after that.”
Just Arsenal Opinion
Stuivenberg has been an important member of the Arsenal coaching crew and Arteta will not want to lose him in this campaign.
But being the manager of Ajax is a huge deal and he might be tempted to take the opportunity if it is offered to him.

That should be a nice challenge for Mr Stuivenberg to try his hand, doubt the gaffer would stand in his way
I can’t imagine Ajax dropping out of the top division, they’re one of the great, great clubs, and now going through a really shabby patch, which if it’s true that they see Albert as their saviour they see more in him than I ever have, as he just seems to be an “Arteta whisperer”.
