Arsenal linked with a move for £40 Million teenager wanted by Man Utd

Arsenal battling Manchester United for the signature of Serie A teenager Dejan Kulusevski.

Arsenal is reportedly ready to go toe to toe with Manchester United for the signature of Swedish star, Dejan Kulusevski.

The 19-year-old struggled at his parent club Atalanta last season and he has since been loaned out to Parma. The loan move has been a success and this season he has been a shining light at his temporary home.

The Sun reports that Ole Gunnar Solkjear and Unai Emery have been monitoring his development and that both managers are apparently keen to land the £40 Million rated playmaker.

The Arsenal midfield has been in a bit of a mess this season and a shake-up is on the cards. Former club captain, Granit Xhaka could leave in the next transfer window and Lucas Torreira may well follow him.

Emery has reportedly been given time to get things right otherwise he could find himself out of a job next month.

Dejan Kulusevski has scored two goals and provided five assists in his 13 league games this season.

The youngster has a strong work ethic and enjoys running, these attributes have drawn the attention of some high profile clubs.

The midfielder has, however, come out to say that he is happy at his current club. But the final decision will lie with Atalanta.

I have not seen the young lad play so cannot comment on his ability but I am not sure Arsenal needs another teenager in the midfield right now. They would, in my opinion, be far better served acquiring an experienced creative midfielder.

Also, £40 Million does seem a bit steep.

  1. Interesting. But Arsenal had better spend that money on a new winger, because we still have penetration problems

    We also have a lot of young midfielders already. For instance, Burton, Maitland-Niles, Willock, Guendouzi, etc

      We need a LW
      I want Aubameyang to play striker/CF only

      Martinelli is good but young and inexperienced. We should play his on LW before we sign an experienced LW

      We have plenty of young players like
      Guendouzi, Martinelli, Saka, Wilock
      Spending £40 million especially on a youth player who hasn’t done well recently is very risky

  2. Rackitic is available, W.Zaha is another option, Thomas party is not a bad DM. No need to waste money on any young dude again.

    1. Rakitic’s work rate has decreased a lot due to his age and we have got many young CMs

      Partey is not needed since we have got Chambers and Luiz who can play as central DM

      I agree on Zaha though

  3. Well, the good thing about him is he has good height and physicality for a DM. Taller than Xhaka, willock, Ceballos, Torreira. And he is quite fast, with and without the ball. And also seems to be good with the ball. And he’s only 19. I would say we have far worse candidates with us currently than him.

    up RB whos been on loan for years
    instead of one of the best DM’s
    in all of Europe? LMFAO. Partey
    would be a godsend in the middle
    of the park for Arsenal,
    providing the necessary
    athleticism, pace and techical
    acumen that is sorely missing
    ATM. He would make both Xhaka
    and Torreria IMMEDIATELY
    expendable.

    Zaha isnt the answer and never
    will be in NL, as many on this
    site have opined hes an older
    version of Pepe.

    And all of the CAM’s currently in
    the first team which player
    has been consistently effective
    in pulling the creative strings
    in midfield? Other than a few
    performances from Ozil, the far
    2 many CAMS you’ve eluded to have
    collectively done NOTHING to
    impact the offensive creativity.
    Nothing but average players to my
    eyes. Id send ALL of them packing
    to Amsterdam if Arsenal were able
    to secure the services of Ziyech,
    IMHO one of the best #10’s in all
    of world futbol ATM. He would be
    unplayable under the likes of
    a Rodgers or Arteta.

    As it stands Arsenal are sadly
    far to average at so many
    critical positions on the pitch
    to be serious players for the top
    4. However IMHO if Raul and Edu
    are willing to make a few
    difficult roster decisions in
    the next 2 windows (notably selling
    Laca, Torreria, Xhaka and others)
    there is no reason Arsenal couldn’t
    have a starting 11 of this caliber
