Arsenal quest for a winger gaining momentum as they look towards France

One of the types of players that Arsenal is looking at most intensely are wingers and numerous names have cropped up including the big one, Wilfried Zaha. However, his price is steep and it does appear that the club is actively looking at cheaper alternatives.

Other wingers linked with Arsenal have been Ryan Fraser at Bournemouth and Dalian Yifang Yannick Carrasco.

And just a few days ago we ran an article that Arsenal were looking at Monaco’s Keita Balde as an alternative to Zaha, Fraser and Carrasco.

At that time we linked to a French media outlet and now SkySports have taken the speculation up and added some extra bits.

Apparently, Arsenal has sent scouts to monitor Balde at the African cup of Nations, who were fortunate enough to witness him score against Tanzania.

Balde was on loan last season at Inter where he basically flopped but he is talented and just because it did not work out in Serie A for him does not mean he will not be a success in the Premier League.

He will be available cheaply in comparison to Zaha and can be had at between £25 Million and £28 Million claim Sky.

This particular rumour is starting to gather momentum, it has gone from being just a run of the mill rumour in France to Sky reporting that scouts have been watching the player.

This is one to keep an eye on.
