Official goals & highlights from Arsenal’s five-goal thriller with Man United

Arsenal lost 3-2 at Old Trafford last night, but there was plenty of positives to come from the performance against Manchester United.

We took the lead early on through Emile Smith Rowe’s effort, but as you’ll see, the ref appeared to be keen to rule it out due to some confusion surrounding David De Gea, but thankfully VAR was on hand to see that we did absolutely nothing wrong.

Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the break with that lead however, after Bruno Fernandes calmly placed his effort past Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale after being found in the box by Fred.

Of course, with the highlight reel having been released by United, they fail to show you the incident where Maguire fouls Tomiyasu in the box with no repercussions, and swiftly moves onto their next goal by Cristiano Ronaldo, before Odegaard scores a near-identical strike to level straight after.

The result was eventually decided by a penalty, with Odegaard’s silly challenge on Fred punishing us on the night.

Did the referee decide the result in the end?
