Official teams and preview for Arsenal v Man United

Arsene Wenger must have been mightily relieved when the in form England striker Danny Welbeck passed his late fitness test and as expected, the Frenchman has stuck with the pacy and hard working front man instead of bringing back Olivier Giroud who has made an early return to fitness and is on the bench to face Manchester United today.

Louis van Gaal has had some good news of his own, with De Gea, Shaw and Di Maria all in the starting line up after their own injury concerns, but their back four still looks weak, and the Gunners will hope that it is the visitor’s defence rather than our own which is the most busy.

One surprise in the Arsenal line-up is that both our box to box midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere start, while the club captain Mikel Arteta also comes into the team after recovering from his little knock. So maybe Wenger is going for four midfielders in front of the Spaniard, with Alexis and the Ox offering pace and power on the flanks.

Szczesny
Chambers, Mertesacker, Monreal, Gibbs
Arteta
Alexis, Ramsey, Wilshere, Chamberlain
Welbeck

subs: Martinez, Bellerin, Flamini, Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud

There are plenty of attacking options on the bench for the Gunners, while United cannot really say the same and that could end ip making the difference, although we all hope that the result is sealed in our favour before that. But this could be a day when patience and nerves are the key factors. Come on Arsenal, you can do this!!

  1. 2 on 1 when we are 1-0 down and why………. Because we couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net in the first half. We are shocking. Wenger is the biggest French idiot going. We can’t beat a top 4 team let alone a very poor Utd team. Good night gooners.

  2. what business has Per got up front ? As if he can help to score ! he can’t even do his own defense job well !

  3. @adienel.
That was Per sprinting, have you not all realised yet he cant run!
Per awful, Scez awful, Ramsey not good, Cazorla on the pitch? Don’t know what to say.
Cant believe stewards are stopping fans showing banners guys being man handled and asked to leave by stewards now.
    #Lets riot at the Emirates.
Whoever you are showing the banner, good on ya!

      1. That’s shameful. Why deny the fans the right to express themselves peacefully? Now, they should expect to see those banners more often.

  4. Did anyone read article. Jurgen Klopp said he would love to move to premier league if he was to leave Germany.

  5. Prediction for Dortmund game, we lose 3-0, another good day at the office.
What is Per and Mikel going to come out with in the media now, yada yada yada don’t want to hear it!

  6. @dboy. Would have been a good plan for us, soak up and counter.
Kamikaze Per again all defenders pushing on again.

  7. Our players seem to forget how to shoot in front of goal. As for this second half, no fight, nothing. Is it Wenger’s fault? I think our players need to take most of the blame…Wilshere and Welbeck had clear chances yet made poor decisions. If we had been 1 or 2 up at half time, it would have been a different story. Why bring on Cazorla? Why not Rosicky, someone who will run at them and at least put in a decent shift?

As for Wenger, well we all agree he needs to go. We need a fresh stance on things, someone who will light a fire under our players butts.

  8. If you love Arsenal than Fuk off Arsene!
Game has moved on but your stubborn self hasnt
You are killing our beloved club!

Right i m goin to get drunk proper now. F u wenger

  9. Jack is awful, gives ball away, cant finish sitters and wants to fight when he is a wee man. Wojeh is cocky but has poor positioning, terrible communication and cant handle set pieces. Per is too slow. Monreal is a good back up LB and a horrid CB. most of our players are not putting in a full shift and either don’t care or don’t have any positional sense.Wenger brings on players like sanogo when we are chasing games and sets us up to lose. this team, manager and even club are not worth our love

  10. Another night that I wont watch MOTD πŸ™ cant bear Shearer and the others slagging off our team.
Collymore just said our worst start to the season since the 80’s!

  11. 15 points from the top, 9 from the bottom, perspective!
If Pool and Spurs won tmw, only GD is stopping us from being 10th.
    Shocking!

  12. I say it now, we will not get CL football next year, maybe not even Europa league. Only way we could is if Wenger buys big in Jan!
How will Stan and Ivan feel about the lost revenue?

  13. If its true that steward disallowed fans frm showing banner as someone claimed, then let fans boycott stadium. We must kick wenger out. With our last blood, We can’t achiev anytn wit him. We r playing without a good striker until Giroud came in, playing without good defenders. Someone talked abt good tactics of Man U, I don’t believ dat, tactics without good players to carry it out is nothing. Arsenal had 7 shot on target in d 1st half, yet no goal, man u had no on target until their 1st goal.
