Pochettino urged to snub Arsenal because of certain limitations

Mauricio Pochettino should avoid Arsenal if he wants to win the title claims pundit.

Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a move to Arsenal after he was fired by their fierce rivals last week.

The Argentinean spent five years across London at Tottenham and helped them become one of England’s top four sides.

He also led them to the Champions League final last season. He, however, struggled to motivate his players to get wins especially away from home this season.

He was sacked and replaced with Jose Mourinho and several Arsenal fans have been calling on their team to fire Unai Emery and name Poch as his replacement.

However, former Manchester United right-back, Garry Neville believes that the former Espanyol boss would be walking into the same situation he left at Tottenham should he move to Arsenal.

“Mauricio Pochettino will get linked with every single job in the next three months,” Neville told Sky Sports as cited by the Daily Star.

“I think he is in a position where he can select where he goes next, he’s in a strong position and his next job will be one of the super clubs in Europe.

“Arsenal would be interesting. It’s happened before George Graham going the other way. Would Spurs fans like that? Would Mauricio do that? Would Arsenal do that?

“I’m not sure Mauricio would want to do something like that to Spurs. Taking over at Arsenal would be similar to the job he just left at Tottenham, in the sense that there is some investment and spending, but it’s limited.

“He’s not going to go to Arsenal and win the league in the next two years. Whatever the next job Mauricio takes, he will want to win trophies, that will be the most important factor in the decision.”

Unai Emery has been given until the new year to turn things around at the Emirates, but he looks to have lost the confidence of the dressing room.

  1. Nuno Espirito Santo.

SkyBet now have the Portuguese at just 6/4 to be the next permanent Arsenal boss, with Mikel Arteta the second favourite at 7/2.

  2. Sad truth, if he wants to grow his profile and add to his portfolio, he needs to avoid Arsenal. He doesn’t need another club interested in managing finances ams projects, he has already proved he can do that perfectly. He’ll be going for his own achievements now, looking to add trophies, so truth be told Arsenal ain’t it.
Maybe, the FA Cup at Arsenal or Europa. If I was him, I’d be avoiding Arsenal too until serious changes occur upstairs

    1. True. Bayern would be perfect for him, but I wonder what they think after beating him 7-2 away. United are just a money option for him, so doubtful unless no other good offer comes. He would do best to wait and see what happens with Real in the following months…

      1. Oh, and of course, he used to play for PSG, so waiting out the season end might give him 2 or even 3 top options to win trophies.
