Reports claim that former Gunner would be allowed to take Arsenal job

Manchester City would allow Mikel Arteta to leave to take up the Arsenal job.

As Unai Emery continues to come under fire for his team’s performances, several managers have been linked with his position.

Mikel Arteta who came close to getting the job ahead of Emery is still linked with the position and it may be easier for the Gunners to make him their new boss than we all think.

Arteta is currently Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City. But he is an Arsenal fan favourite after his spell with the club under Arsene Wenger.

Arteta was one of the most respected members of the dressing room according to the reports. Therefore the thinking is that the club would be glad to welcome him back as manager.

The media reports that Manchester City would not stand in the way of Arteta should he decide to accept a job offer from Arsenal.

A source, claims the report, states that Arteta is sure that City would not stop him from becoming a manager if the right opportunity comes.

With wins hard to come by under Emery, Arteta could be brought in sooner if results do not improve despite the dreaded vote of confidence.

It is difficult to know what to believe in this febrile atmosphere. The media are going to be throwing out names left right and centre. This is particularly true in an international break when club news is thin on the ground.

We have already had Luis Enrique reported to have spoken with the club. The false rumours of Jose Mourinho dining with Raul Sanllehi. Now this.

On a personal level, I would be just fine with Arteta given a go.
