Why Arsenal have to beat Man United?

Why Arsenal have to beat United according to Wrighty!

The international break is over which means domestic club football returns. Arsenal come back full speed ahead, with the Gunners travelling up north to face Manchester United on Saturday.

It’s sure to be a very challenging match for the Gunners, despite a drop in form from Mourinho’s men. With both sides having key players out of their line-ups due to injury or suspension, it could be a difficult game to predict. However based on the run of form of both clubs and given that Arsenal already have an edge over their Manchester rivals in the league table, I fancy the Gunners to have the better chances going into the game.

One individual who’s had his say on the match in the build up to Saturday, is Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
Speaking to SunSport, Wrighty said: “In respect of going into a game we needed to win and really put down a marker. I can totally understand where Wenger was coming from [in regards to last seasons 3-2 defeat], I felt exactly the same. It was such a let-down. They should look at last season and realise how much they dropped the ball there. another good opportunity and Arsenal are playing well. So I’m going for an Arsenal win – and I hope it’s a convincing one so that it can rub a little bit into Jose.”

It will be a tough test for both clubs and a victory is important for both sides for a number of reasons. Arsenal have found themselves slip down the table after the draw against Spurs, whilst United need to get back to winning ways so they can rise up the table again. It’s also important in the minds of both managers and it’ll be the first time Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho have come head to head since the ‘special one’ made the move to manage in Manchester. The pair have a longstanding rival and it’s sure to be a tasty affair even after the Portuguese manager left Chelsea.

Three points are also vital for both sides because the mentality from the result of this game will pass onto coming weeks. Arsenal have a tough few games ahead of them in the last weeks of November and so we cannot go into these games having been on the back of a disappointing defeat against a struggling United side.

  1. All things considered, i would take a draw at trafford. Its never been an easy place to visit and if we want to be champions then we have to make sure we take some sort of points from these places. Obviously I want the gunners to smash utd and mourinho, but realistically i would take a point.

  2. It will be tight with that big bus in the way, but I reckon they will hold on to 0-0 until half time, but their makeshift defenders will get over run in second half

  3. If we are serious about wanting to be considered title challengers we have to start winning games like this and more importantly we have to start showing up to our fullest potential for 90 minutes. So far in November we have failed to play to our potential and we have failed to play for 90 minutes IMO.

Only a win will do. A draw will be in line with the Arsenal of past seasons, the Arsenal that will hope to finish 4th and the Arsenal that needs to rationalise its dropped points.

  4. If we lose this, it proves we don’t have what it takes the win the title, and we’ll shortly fall back into old habits after this.

  5. I read that Koscielny has signed new contract, this is great news, there isn’t a club in the world that Koscielny couldn’t play in. Definition of world class to me, able to play in any team and not depreciate it’s quality by doing so. Strikers are a different definition though, competition is huge, and we have all time greats playing, so here I say the top five strikers in this area are world class, so long as there are five who stand out more so than the sixth.

I read that Alexis’s best mate at Arsenal is none other than Mezzy Ozil. Mezmerizing Ozil. When I read what he said though, it sounded more like he was talking about “wavelength”, he said he only needs to glance to Ozil to understand him, also mentioned how silky he is going forward.
