Why Arsenal have to beat Man United?

Why Arsenal have to beat United according to Wrighty!

The international break is over which means domestic club football returns. Arsenal come back full speed ahead, with the Gunners travelling up north to face Manchester United on Saturday.

It’s sure to be a very challenging match for the Gunners, despite a drop in form from Mourinho’s men. With both sides having key players out of their line-ups due to injury or suspension, it could be a difficult game to predict. However based on the run of form of both clubs and given that Arsenal already have an edge over their Manchester rivals in the league table, I fancy the Gunners to have the better chances going into the game.

One individual who’s had his say on the match in the build up to Saturday, is Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
Speaking to SunSport, Wrighty said: “In respect of going into a game we needed to win and really put down a marker. I can totally understand where Wenger was coming from [in regards to last seasons 3-2 defeat], I felt exactly the same. It was such a let-down. They should look at last season and realise how much they dropped the ball there. another good opportunity and Arsenal are playing well. So I’m going for an Arsenal win – and I hope it’s a convincing one so that it can rub a little bit into Jose.”

It will be a tough test for both clubs and a victory is important for both sides for a number of reasons. Arsenal have found themselves slip down the table after the draw against Spurs, whilst United need to get back to winning ways so they can rise up the table again. It’s also important in the minds of both managers and it’ll be the first time Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho have come head to head since the ‘special one’ made the move to manage in Manchester. The pair have a longstanding rival and it’s sure to be a tasty affair even after the Portuguese manager left Chelsea.

Three points are also vital for both sides because the mentality from the result of this game will pass onto coming weeks. Arsenal have a tough few games ahead of them in the last weeks of November and so we cannot go into these games having been on the back of a disappointing defeat against a struggling United side.
