Our club is currently under a cloud of doubt, and with much speculative talk about possible departures this summer, we thought we’d look into the possible arrivals.
Three players we are linked with are all starring in La Liga, with two of which are owned by Real Madrid currently.
You wont be surprised to read that we are AGAIN being linked with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, and every year we look more and more likely to land him. The French international has been sharing his role with Alvaro Morata this term, and the club may well have to sell one of the pair to keep the other happy.
We are also supposedly keen on signing Marco Asensio from the Bernabeu club. The 21 year-old is claimed to be valued at £40 Million. The winger has notched up eight goals in his 25 appearances thus far this term, and is believed to be highly rated by his parent club. United and Arsenal are said to be hoping to tempt the Castillan side to sell their wonderkid on.
Another young Spaniard in Samuel Castillejo is supposedly on our wishlist also. The 22 year-old winger in impressing for Villareal, and is said to be on the shortlist of United, Man City and Napoli in the coming window. He is far from ready to replace a departing Alexis Sanchez, but the story reckons his goals could help take some slack off his exit.
Rui Patricio is the last name we are bringing to you today, with the goalkeeper believed to be on our radar to replace Petr Cech or David Ospina this summer. The Euro 2016 winner was one of the stars of the tournament, and his club Sporting Lisbon have supposedly slapped a £17 Million asking price on his head amidst interest from our club.
Could any of these players improve our starting XI? Could we persuade Real to sell Asensio or Benzema?
