Confirmed Arsenal team for tough West Ham trip

The teams are finally out for today’s London derby game between Arsenal and West Ham.

The Gunners actually come into this with the second-best form, but the bookmakers still make them favourites to clinch all three points, and rightly so.

As they say, ‘form is temporary’, and it is Arsenal who have the better players, and higher ceiling, and have to be considered the most likely winners.

Saying that, West Ham have proved to be extremely consistent this term, winning 50% of their 28 Premier League matches thus far, and they will be well up for today’s challenge.

We were aware that Willian needed to be assessed in the warm-up to today’s match before a decision would be made on his involvement, and he has been deemed not to be ready.

This team has more than enough firepower in it to cause the best of teams trouble, and the Hammers will certainly have their work cut-out as we look to push our way back up the table.

Their manager David Moyes doesn’t have a great record against Arsenal as a manager, picking up less points per match against us than any other current Premier League side at present (according to Transfermarkt), and we will hopefully be knocking that stat a little lower with another win today.

What are your predictions after seeing the match?

  1. What is Auba doing to contribute? Anything? Anything at all? His positioning is not good and he appears to have no tricks or close control up his sleeve. Bring on ESR or Martinelli.

  2. Why is ødegaard hanging so long on the ball??? FFS we need fast one touch unexplainable passes in their 18

  3. Aubameyang, Xhaka, Chambers should be taken off now.

To be replaced by Martinelli, Smith-Rowe and Cedric respectively.

    Lacazette.

    Martinelli. Odegaard. Saka.

    Smith-Rowe. Partey.

    Tierney. Mari. Luiz. Cedric.

    Leno.

Full flow attack. Maybe we can turn the game around.

  4. Fair play Jon moss is a knob stain
He’s probably on par with a Sunday league ref ,absolutely terrible ref.

  5. I was expecting a good game and some fight from this Arsenal players. This performance is really pathetic… I hope for a miracle

  6. Mike Arteta, you have Pepe, Smith Rowe and Martinelli on the bench. This is 72 mins gone. When are you going to bring them in? What is wrong with our Manager? I dont get it at all.

  7. Martinelli ?????????????????????????
    🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Oh must be Injured again ,oh well maybe we will see him again in 2031

  8. Why was Laca’s goal given as an OG? Haven’t seen it up close but it looked like just a deflection?
Rooney has a goal from Euro 2004 to his name that rebounded off the post and then off the keepers back – they still credited that to him!

    1. 2004??? Rules change laca shot was going off target so own goal given. Shot has to be on target.

      1. It’s the same rule, they said Rooney’s original shot was on target.
As I said, didn’t see Laca’s up close, but it looked fine from the standard angle. If it was off target that answers my question.

      1. Why is expression of feeling annoying? You know what is annoying ?whatching the team you love humiliated. You are bocoming authoritarian dude. Relax.

    1. I’m here, dont be a mug if you are happy with that then you obviously are not a arsenal supporter

    1. I’d take Pepe’s game over Auba all day long atm. At
least he puts in a shift whenever given the opportunity.

Decent assist to draw us level

    1. Chambers should be bellerin to crossing classes until the end of the season. Corporal punishment allowed

    1. And to say that it could easily have been a win for both sides shows that this match is definitely the game of the week!

  9. Arteta was to slow in making the substitutions. For goodness sake, at the start of the second half, he should have brought in 2 players. You don’t make your first substitution if you are chasing a game at 72 mins. Arteta is either naive or arrogant or both.

    1. Both. He’s a poor manager, this job is too big for him. Odegaard saving us from humiliation this time and making up for the awful lineup. Please get a real manager Arsenal. It’s time.

      1. Honestly RSH, I agree with you. I am tired of this team. This was a must win match. When are we going to have a team that can compete for the league title? What do we have to do? I am tired of this mediocrity. I am tired.

  10. Personally, for me Arteta is not a good coach. Reasons….

    1. He doesn’t work on his players mentality, they are too weak mentally. Some of them are not tired physically but tired mentally.

    2. He’s so poor or sentimental in his selection.

    3. He himself as a coach lacks winning mentality, his style of play is too boring

      1. SueP,

Yes everyone can see the fight which is always great. But didnt you see the giving up mentality in the first 30 minutes? We were not in the game to win it, that much is obvious. We are still 10th so I dont see how scraping a draw is a good result?

        1. In fairness the players did ultimately respond after a 35 minute shocking display and such lethargy at the beginning was appalling. But I’m not sure that they weren’t in It to win it. They needed a rocket up their collective derrieres

      2. What is the meaning of that? fight back indeed. Are we playing man u, man city or Barcelona? It’s a shame that we are now accepting mediocrity. Against western?….. Arsenal?

        1. Based on this season, West Ham are more consistent than us, so we definitely were the underdogs here. SueP definitely has a point, and MA must have rallied his players and timed the subs well to get a respectable result.

  11. Not going to even comment on the 90 as a whole (we mustn’t forget the first 20 ! ).

    But ;

Odegaard – what a footballing technician this boy is.

Everything we craved from a certain Mesut Ozil – let’s hope he goes on to have the career Mesut did (hopefully with us).

However, is this the game that put him out of our reach ?

    1. I hope not! Ode might come back on loan next season, but a permanent transfer might be just a dream atm.

        1. Yeah. As I am a Madrid fan too, I have followed him ever since his move there and he is by no means what you might call a ‘failed wonderkid’ aka Bojan Krkic. The guy is class, and he is a similar player to a certain left footed beloved German maestro 😉😉

  12. chambers would b a lot better than xhaka in dm pos but arteta wont drop xhaka.at least gine him a go

  13. If anyone here can get this across to the Arsenal Board: SIGN ODEGAARD.
    He’s a genius!

  14. Wow! I have seen the future. Odergaard, ESR and Martinellii all on the field together. Aubamayang should have been replaced, much earlier.Arteta needs to grow some coyons and be braver in how to get his team to start more directly. The nonsense sideways passing until they went down 0-3 was ridiculous. I know he has a simple plan but that was simply dumb .Odergaard must be central to any future plans and will test the club’s resolve. Chambers must also be considered as a defensive midfielder.

    1. we needed to win this match. We are still in 10th place. This is just not good enough. Arteta is taking us to new heights of mediocrity where we see a draw against westham as a good result. 3 goals down against westham is a disgrace. We are officially a joke. Anyone celebrating seeing this result as a good one needs to rethink. This is ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB for goodness sake.

  15. Laca/Martielli
    Pepe…MO…SAKA
    Partey…Chambers
    Tierney…Gabby…Holding….Soares
    Leno

Auba should be a late game sub going forward,
dude has been NOTHING but a passenger lately.
