Gabriel Jesus injured v Man Utd

How well is Gabriel Jesus’ recovery from injury going?

Gabriel Jesus may be closer to returning to full fitness than previously expected, following the anterior cruciate ligament injury he sustained in January. The Brazilian forward has endured a frustrating spell on the sidelines in recent months, adding to what has been a challenging tenure at the Emirates, marked by both injuries and inconsistent form.

The outlook for his role at Arsenal has shifted considerably. The recent arrival of Viktor Gyokeres is expected to see the Swedish striker lead the line for the Gunners in the new campaign. In addition, Kai Havertz has returned in strong condition and is determined to compete for a place in the starting eleven. As a result, Jesus now finds himself effectively the third-choice option in the club’s attacking hierarchy.

Uncertain Role on Return

While supporters are hopeful for his recovery, the precise timeline for Jesus to resume competitive action remains unclear. His rehabilitation progress has been shared intermittently through his personal social media accounts, providing fans with glimpses of his training and recovery work. According to Football Insider, his latest online activity suggests that he is edging closer to a return to the pitch.

Even so, questions remain about his long-term future at Arsenal. The club’s strengthened forward line and the emergence of alternative attacking options mean his path back into regular first-team action will be more competitive than ever.

Potential Impact and Future Prospects

A fully fit Gabriel Jesus could still provide valuable depth to the squad and increase competition among the forwards, potentially raising performance levels across the attack. His versatility and work rate remain assets that could benefit the team during a demanding season across multiple competitions.

However, given Arsenal’s recent upgrades in personnel, it appears increasingly likely that Jesus’ future may lie away from the Emirates. A move could offer him a fresh start and the opportunity to regain his best form in an environment where he is guaranteed more consistent playing time.

For now, his immediate focus will be on completing his recovery and making himself available for selection, with both supporters and teammates wishing him a smooth and successful return.

  1. I hope he gets well soon,we need him. He’s a menace wherever part of the field he plays and he needs no help to take people on unlike d current LWinger in our team do. I’m never going to sell jesus I’m sorry for he is one of the few true brazilian left😅

      1. Awful? That’s an extreme and inaccurate word for Jesus. He might not be the greatest striker but a very competent one and we need him in case of injuries and/or EFL/FA Cup

        1. “we need him in case of injuries”, well given his injury record (the point of the article after all) that may be a bit of stretch.

          1. Sorry Bertie, having not read your post, I appear to have repeated what you said. But as the saying goes, two great minds think alike.

Although calling my mind is a bit if a stretch to be fare. 😂🤣👍

        2. Stephanie,

You say we need him in case of injury’s, but he’s constantly injured himself or have I been dreaming that. 🤦‍♂️😂

  2. Hopefully fit before January so he can be sold….2nd highest paid player who has contributed very little….he served his purpose at the time when our bar was lower…for his sake, assuming he wishes to still play, is to leave….

      1. Thts the point. Remarkable we signed them at the time as we were going nowhere

This was our team at the time of FA CUP WIN:

26 Emiliano Martinez (GK), 2 Hector Bellerin, 3 Kieran Tierney, 8 Dani Ceballos, 9 Alexandre Lacazette, 14 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (C), 15 Ainsley Maitland-Niles, 16 Rob Holding, 19 Nicolas Pepe, 23 David Luiz, 34 Granit Xhaka

No player is still at the club and Jesus and Zinch were instrumental in getting us almost to the title their first year. That enabled us to attract better players as we were then back in UCL

Jesus has had a horrific run of injuries and so it’s not his fault re his salary and not being able to play… anyone knows people need to get match fit only by playing . So it is been stop start since that World Cuo injury ( reminder he was a full International for Brasil !!l

He isn’t getting sold this window due to his injury so lets hope he gets fit to play cup.matches by Nov and then we can sell.in Jan window when we can push on for the title with 1 or 2 more additions then once this new team has had a chance to settle

        1. 👍 Neil. Even with Saliba’s back injury, if Jesus had been able to return to being the incredible player we saw before his WC injury, I believe we would have still won the title that season. Those 248 days spent in first place were disappointing in the sense that we could not finish first but the change of belief in what’s possible and mentality was and is very important.

  3. So Steve, are u saying these are the kind of comment (especially your 1st comment) u’ll be telling your children and posterity to come when they ask you about Gabriel Jesus??

    1. I don’t know about Steve, but I’ll be telling my children that Arsenal paid a whopping £14m every year for years and years to an injury-prone striker who didn’t score goals.

  4. Love Jesus but I hope we can get Leao as lw. or mabey we
are fully stocked there ?? So we wait until january.. this
    team needs time to gel.

  5. Who really cares though? When fit he doesn’t score the goals that, as a No 9, he should, and if past history is anything to go by, he won’t be fit for too long anyway.

Jesus may have contributed to Arsenal positively when he first arrived, but that “parade” has moved on by hasn’t it. Unless there’s a staggering reversal in his form he is, and will remain unfortunately, an extremely expensive “ornament” for Arsenal.

  6. Both Jesus and Zinchenko have been heavily criticised by many on JA but who was fully responsible for bringing them on board and why is he not held accountantable for their !imited contributions on the pitch? As for Jesus when fully fit he is a very talented winger but as a central striker he is decidedly average.

    1. I agree with Steve, Grandad, that both Jesus and Zinchenko were what was needed at the time. Not in Europe and not a particular go-to club for top players. I didn’t have a problem at the time, but recognise that Zinchenko has had his day and Jesus having been sidelined through injury won’t be a first choice player when he eventually gets fit

  7. At the time City were the top team,
we were not and no longer in uCL. Jesus & Zinchenko were no longer considered the v best players so City allowed them to leave
and we were happy to have them because they were better than we had.
We needed to pay them good wages to get them here.
This is how teams improve and we needed to improve.
They and Arteta who signed them, helped us get better, get back in uCL and be able to recruit better players.
    .
All players get older, most players start to lose fitness and some players are more unlucky with injuries (it is a very difficult process, sometimes needing surgery, slowly recovering, not being able to play, gradually being able to do a bit more, carefully increasing fitness levels over a long period (hoping not to aggravate the injuring) until eventually players are ready to be available to play and then, in this case, not be first choice anymore.
    .
Arsenal have got better and more consistent. We have amassed the most points over the past three seasons.
    .
We are in competition with other very good teams/squads who have also spent a lot of money on players.
    .
There were other times we were also one of the best and other times when Arsenal were the best.
    .
It is great to be back in the race.
I for one appreciate all those who have contributed and I thank them.
