Yes arteta must improve the team or we’ll be dump out by a team with equally solid defence but a more fluid attack like PSG
I like Eze , it’s clear that faith and a family-borne resilience is what keeps him alive.
It is paramount to note that at Crystal Palace Eze was seldom use as a traditional touch line winger, The former Crystal Palace Man is best described as a left 10 when in possession.
As a left 10, Eze offers Arsenal what we don’t have in any of our current options off the left.
In attack, Eze athleticism and explosive runs , along with his desire to get and stay on the ball and primarily to operate in the half space , free up opportunities for left back to maraud forward to create overload.
It is for those reasons Hincapié and Martineli will be the biggest beneficiary when the former Crystal Palace Man shackles release.
Eze is going to have to adapt his play to fit into Arteta’s setups. Arteta will probably try him in a number of different roles. However, there is such competition that it’s not going to be straightforward to determine his best role at Arsenal and it may take some time..

personally i thought Rice was our worst performer in that game and that didn’t help because our midfield players were totally outplayed by Bilba,it is just that our defense was immense because they cleared every danger Timber, Mosquera and Gabriel were good.
Ezes best position is NOT on the wing.
Mabey the nervousness of the game affected him and
his performance.. its also clear that Noni must work on his
final ball and decision making.. exactly what Gabi M has done to great effect !!! boring game good result.. I was hoping MA would unlease Ethan´s directness and creativity in Bilbao but he is a cautious manager and can
be very pramatic in his approach, in this match it paid off.
It doesn’t help that Eze is being used in a position that he’s only played for 1% of the past 5 seasons (info via The Athletic). He could have had a more central role yesterday, and I’m sure he’ll be tried there sooner rather than later, then we may see why all that money was paid for him.

He’s still finding his feet playing at a new club, with a different style of play and in a position that is not one he is used to.
If Odegaard is out for the city game then I would expect MA to use him in that role and he will be able to show his full potential.
Yeah ken1945, I really don’t think Eze was stunned by the bright lights of the UCL. The new squad needs time to gel. Let’s see in perhaps 5-10 games if we are still getting the same disjointed individual play (imo) that we witnessed in much of the game yesterday. I just hope we are able to stay near the top until we go on what I believe will be a virtually unbeatable run in the second half of the season.
