Roy Keane believes Arsenal has what it takes to win the Premier League title this season and has explained why he would favour the Gunners over Manchester City.
Arsenal have addressed one of the main problems in their team over the last few seasons by signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Club. The Swedish forward has been one of the most prolific players in Europe in recent years and impressed considerably at his former club. Securing his signature was not straightforward, but Arsenal remained patient during the transfer window and ultimately strengthened their squad with a striker capable of scoring goals regularly. This addition is widely viewed as a key factor in their potential to compete for the league crown.
Manchester City have also bolstered their squad with high-quality additions, as have Liverpool and Chelsea. While Liverpool remains the favourite to retain their title as defending champions, Arsenal’s strategic acquisitions have significantly enhanced its prospects.
Keane Backs Arsenal
Keane said, “I never usually bet against Pep and City. I just think maybe defensively, and I know that they’ve thrown James Trafford in there, and I think he’s a really top goalkeeper but I just have that gut feeling that I think Arsenal might do it this year,” as quoted by the Daily Mail. Keane’s comments underline the confidence that Arsenal’s strengthened squad has inspired among experienced football figures.

Managing Expectations and Title Hopes
Despite the excitement surrounding Arsenal, it is important to manage expectations and not place too much pressure on the team to deliver immediately. Competing against the likes of Manchester City and other title contenders will require consistency, resilience, and composure throughout the season. Arsenal’s additions, combined with the tactical acumen of their coaching staff, suggest the club is well-positioned to capitalise on opportunities and challenge for the top spot.
Fans and pundits alike will be watching closely to see if Arsenal can convert their improved squad into a title-winning performance, finally securing the Premier League crown. Careful management of players and expectations will be key to ensuring that the team’s potential translates into results on the pitch.

Not even among our fan base have I seen such faith
Yes, but don’t forget he said in the article that he never usually bets against Pep and City so he would presumably have gone with them to win last season – and he would have been wrong. You never know.
Unfortunately, faith doesn’t win titles, performance over the season does.
The need for a top class left winger is obvious.
If that happens then we maybe stand a chance.
We have just signed a natural left winger from Chelsea who should not be judged on a brief appearance against Man Utd.To win the League we need our players to perform consistently well .On Sunday our performance was pedestrian at best , and our failure to control possession, which is the mantra of the tactics deployed by our Manager, is concerning.Last year i was bored and disappointed with the lack of invention and speed at which we went about our business, and, sadly, based on Sundays efforts, little has changed .Our running off the ball was non existent during phases of the match against a Utd team which ,to be fair to them, were up for it and worked hard throughout the match.Hopefully excellent players like Rice and Saka will spring into life soon to set the fire going in the weeks ahead and dispel my pessimism .
👍
We all hope he’s right, but (even) Roy Keane predicting it won’t make it so. Only Arteta and the squad can do that over the 37 games to come.
Guys seriously. Can we chill out
First game and 3 points in the bag
If we are still playing the same way in 4-5 matches then there would be cause for concern …though considering who we have to play in next 4 -5 matches I will take 3 points a a crap performance every day of the week !
100% agree!
First game of the season, let’s not be judgmental just yet.
Although people are entitled to opinions, just don’t think we need to be pessimistic.
You’re spot on @Neil
Hope he’s right but we need someone with more purpose on left. We have a great squad with plenty of cover. We just need consistency across the campaign and avoiding draws we should be winning. As a fellow Corkman, nice to see Keane tipping us.
Keane backing arsenal sounds strange, he must hav seen something though, but am feeling the same, I was watching united bossing arsenal around but still a had a strong belief we were not going to lose or draw, arsenal had a set of giant players in that game, a hard nut to crack and when their attacking side of game clicks wow, it would be game over, if their back four remains fit they would concede even fewer than the last two seasons and like they say defense wins tittles, this time I feel that strong defense will take them over the line,

People underestimate the effects of the early goal and the recent history at that pitch. If it had remained goalless up to half time. Probably we would have seen the real arsenal taking initiative and venturing forward.
Arsenal still need improvement in all department, especially in attack. Take the risk, accept Real Madrid offer for william saliba and rodrygo.. we got so many good defence player then striker.. let William go to Real Madrid and bring Rodrygo to Arsenal.
The team is facing a learning process because they have never played with a striker all these years but it won’t take time for them to gel because even without striker, they did it in three whole year, this is not just ordinary feeling but is a fact that Arsenal might won it without doubt.
Arsenal is set to go. This season it’s now about the best defense. Most teams have good attack and midfielders
Arsenal got best defense I think they gonna do it
