Eberechi Eze has reportedly enjoyed a strong week as Arsenal’s latest squad addition, and the English midfielder is now pushing for a starting role in the highly anticipated weekend clash against Liverpool. Both clubs are direct contenders for the league title this season, having opened their campaigns with back-to-back victories. This encounter promises to be one of the defining fixtures in the early stages of the competition.
Arsenal’s Ambition and Liverpool’s Defensive Concerns
Arsenal will arrive at Anfield with confidence, buoyed by a successful summer of recruitment and preparation. The team from the Emirates will be eager to demonstrate the progress they have made and to prove that they are now more formidable than in previous seasons. Liverpool, meanwhile, is dealing with concerns at the back. Their defensive performances have been questioned, and Arsenal will likely aim to exploit any weaknesses they can identify.
Despite these vulnerabilities, Liverpool remains a difficult opponent, especially at home, and will be determined not to let their rivals leave with all three points. Both sides may need an individual moment of brilliance to settle the game, and the question is whether Eze can deliver such an impact for Arsenal.

Eze’s Potential Role in the Line-up
According to The Sun, Eze has impressed in recent training sessions, leaving manager Mikel Arteta with a positive impression. The report notes that the Arsenal boss is now seriously considering starting him in the match against Liverpool. With Bukayo Saka confirmed absent and Martin Odegaard facing doubts over his fitness, the possibility of Eze featuring from the beginning has increased significantly.
Eze has already been involved in competitive action this season, including appearances since the Community Shield, which suggests he is physically ready for such a demanding fixture. His creativity, composure on the ball, and attacking instinct could offer Arsenal a valuable option in what is expected to be a tightly contested encounter.
As both teams seek an early advantage in the title race, Arsenal will be looking for players capable of stepping up in crucial moments. Eze now has the opportunity to show he can be that decisive influence, and all eyes will be on whether he can seize the moment at Anfield.

Absolutely no reason why Eze cannot start tomorrow. Sometimes adhering to old practices can be detrimental to the success of the team. Eze can, and most likely will contribute immensely to the teams success on Sunday. Arteta has to play him.
Playing football in front of 500 or 600 supporters is enough to completely throw some players; And yet we’ve seen Eze deliver a winning performance with Crystal Palace at Wembley in front of 90.000 fans and showing he really is that guy. Iv really no doubt Eze can be the difference in front of 60,000 capacity at Anfield – we have a crowd favorite on our hands – even rival fans will soon appreciate how much a game changer and a baller EE10 proves to be.
He also scored the winning goal in CP’s 0-1 win at Anfield in April of 2024.
@BB
Yep…another reason to believe he’s going to be a great big Plus.
The former Crystal Palace Man has to start tomorrow, a Roy Hudson approached should use when dealing with Eze.
Son go and enjoy your self.
I really can not see why he doesn’t start. He isn’t wet behind the ears.
Assuming he’s fully fit (which he should be) then I can’t see why he shouldn’t start. Let’s get an early view of him in an Arsenal shirt particularly after the saga of getting him in one.
