Roma rumour to push up price of Rabiot to Arsenal transfer?

If the number of Arsenal transfer rumours currently doing the rounds about the young Central midfielder Adrien Rabiot are anything to go by, there is certainly real interest from Arsene Wenger, despite the Frenchman refusing point blank to discuss him at the pre-match press conference.

Over the last few days, we have heard that Rabiot’s current club, French champions PSG, have slashed their asking price for the talented 19-year old, which has apparently caused Wenger to make his move. There has been a report about the central midfielder’s agent and mother arriving in London to finalise the deal, but then the latest reports, including one by Metro, suggests that the Gunners may face a late battle with Roma.

The Serie A side have apparently made a late bid to hijack the transfer and even though Rabiot is said to prefer Arsenal, the interest from the Italian club may cause PSG to up the transfer fee again. Unless they have already accepted an offer, they would certainly welcome a bidding war. However, the fact that the latest rumours come from France may mean that they are just that and have been started for the purpose of pushing up the price. We should know more very soon…

O.T: not sure if everyone’s read özils interview.. the telegraph have an article on it. Great read and shows to me how he loves arsenal, london and why we should all get behind him.

The problem with Ozil is, he doesn’t run around like a headless chicken for 90 minutes or snap the legs off opposition players. That’s what you get rated on in England and Ozil is far too subtle and intelligent for your average British hack…

Agree 100%, I will say again I played against a player like Ozil. He always seemed to have time, could not get the ball off him, murdered us with killer passes. But in a straight line I could outrun him anytime.

Ozil is not Theo ! Ozil is playing F1 football in a bump-a car world.

I read the article and I can’t wait for Wenger to return Ozil to CAM.

This kid has huge talent. would welcome him, as a matter of fact would welcome anyone at the moment. Our squad needs to be improved, I just don’t understand why is wenger not doing anything. Hope we get him and Sokratis at least

Think its fair to say most of us don’t want ‘the rabbit’. Wanyama or someone similar as DM and sokratis (CB and DM) for me. I’d be thrilled with this transfer window!

By the way has kj apologised yet? Rozza is a future legend!

To me it seems every time arsenal wants to sign a player from a particular club, they always seem to want to ” jack up the price” and hold us to ransom!

Wenger going to pull a Rabiot
    out of the hat 🙂
    French and cheap so yep
    Wenger wants him.
Now if he was also injured
it would be a done deal already.
    Better than nothing I suppose.
    Not the big “Exciting” signing
    we are promised.
Still time to sign some one really exciting
    like Falcao, Cavani, Reus, Carvalho,
    Kondogbia, Messi, Varane.
    or Pogba or

It is the same in English or Spanish. Wenger please get Sokratis, Cerci and Carvalho, then we can fight for all trophies.
Everyone assumes that Wenger can MAKE PSG do a deal, that Arsene can FORCE Sporting Lisbon into accepting 24 million.
Only the banks in Lisbon that tell Sporting “take the offer or we want all our money by Wednesday”

Dortmund would have made a deal for Sokratis, but drawing Arsenal in the CL group makes that near impossible. I think that deal is dead.

Is it Wenger or the media that’s supposedly buying these players for us ? It appears that it’s a lot simpler to sell a player when you link him to Arsenal because clubs desperately want to have the players we have. This is exactly why we’re linked with a 1000 players transfer window and only 1 or 2 end up with us the end. Look at the Balotelli and this William Carvalho rumours for instance and you’ll see my point …

back to topic, Roma takes Manolas, now Rabiot, so they are using our scouting network or what? Now Remy also going to Chelsea, Khedira staying, Morgan staying, William bit costly, so who is left in market who you think Wenger will try bring in?
