Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen remain locked in discussions over a potential deal for Piero Hincapie, but progress has been limited so far. The Ecuadorian defender has already informed his current club of his desire to leave in this transfer window, and while Leverkusen are open to the move, the terms of the agreement remain unresolved.
Hincapie had been strongly linked with a switch to Tottenham earlier in the summer, but Arsenal’s entrance into the race altered the landscape significantly. The Gunners now appear to be leading the chase, making this transfer theirs to finalise should talks move forward.

According to The Sun, despite the player’s readiness to make the move, a “significant gap” still exists between Arsenal’s offer and Leverkusen’s demands. All parties are aware that time is running out, with the transfer window approaching its conclusion, and negotiations are expected to continue intensively today in an attempt to reach common ground.
For Arsenal, the urgency is clear. Hincapie is seen as an ideal addition to reinforce their back line, bringing versatility and composure to Arteta’s defensive options. Securing his signature would not only allow Kiwior to depart but also provide the squad with renewed strength as they prepare for the demands of the season ahead.

Get him in already. I luv it when I hear that players chose and desired to come play for the Arsenal.
Just like eze, hincapie want to come to the arsenal despite knowing that he has two strong competition in calafiori and big Gabi in the left back and centre back positions.
A player chosing to do that shows his character and dedication to the team he wants to join. That is why I don’t know if rodrygo should be considered at all cos he only wants to join either arsenal or man city due to the world coming next year.
Have been watching Hincapié with my boys, It appears Hincapié will offers Arsenal versatility on the left, functioning as a left sided center back or left back who can play high and wide, overlapping to create attacking overload, similar to what Ben White provides on the right but mirroring the left footed role
White on right, offers defensive stability, can play as a center back, and provide with of half space to link up play with attacks.
