Confirmed Arsenal XI to take on Man United this afternoon

The teams are out for today’s big matchup between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium, with the two sides hoping to keep in the hunt for fourth place.

We predicted an unchanged line-up from our victory over Chelsea when naming our Predicted XI earlier on today, and you can see the confirmed team as posted on their official social media.

The Red Devils could overtake us in the table should they win by three or more goals, but given the form, the reverse scoreline would surely be the more likely.

I hate to get too carried away, as we know that this fixture can be anything but predictable at times, with all the players likely to be self-motivated by the rivalry that has grown over the years, but of all the teams in the hunt for the top four, their performances are the ones which are least deserving of it personally.

How do you expect the clash to play out after seeing the starting line-up?

  1. Why is Holding on the bench. This is the kind of matches Holding is made of, he always plays better against big teams

  2. One of the worst united teams I’ve ever seen it would be an embarrassment losing twice to that lot.. if we’re at it should be a comfortable win.

    1. We shouldn’t even have lost the away match based on how it went on. We just stood there and gifted them goals. There should be no excuses if we lose this one. Even a draw wouldn’t be good enough. If we are serious we can score 4 against them because they will fancy their chances against us and open up. Its all to play for. in this one

  3. I agree about Holding, he should have been in the starting line up. I thought Ronaldo wouldnt make it but hell he is there. Anyway, we are in good form and we should be able to beat them. Hope Nketiah continues his good form, so also Saka and ESR.

    1. Niketiah’s form?
What kind of form you seeing at the moment??
Scoring 2 goals because opponents made mistake, is that the definition of form for you??

  4. Season defining game for both teams Managers players alike. The gaffer puts out the best X1 with a decent bench too. We are the favourites in front of our home crowd how will we cope? Utd on paper are vastly superior but will any of them show up? Should be a superb game. Just worried Ronaldo might steal the show.

  5. Doesn’t matter the form heading into this fixture as teams have the tenancy to step up against us as we are considered “beatable”…

This is going to be a very difficult fixture, even more so with Ronaldo back looking for that 100th League Goal.

We need to keep the tempo going from the Chelsea match and have a proper go at this lot.

    Arsenal 2-2 United
    Nketiah to grab another today.

  6. Why no Holding? Maybe not risking him, slight injury? I hope the decision to keep Holding on the bench works!!!
    COYG

  7. I’d prefer the three at the back set up with holding just as in the previous game.
I feel Tavares is less composed defensively and wonders too far for a left full back. He’s good as a wing back though, just as in our last match.
I hope this is not a blind gamble.

  8. We will see if Nketiah is the flash in the pan or can be more. Big big chance to kick utd in the nuts today.

  9. I think we use the two-CB formation to counter Rangnick’s tactic, as we did to Tuchel

Ronaldo’s finishing skills are world class. But the old man isn’t a high presser, so our CBs could be more relaxed

However, Sancho is very dangerous when cutting inside from the left wing and Fernandes is highly skillful. Man United are also very threatening in set-pieces, because they have towering monsters such as Matic, McTominay, Varane, Lindelof and Ronaldo

  10. Worried about the RONALDO factor and whether we can handle the pressure of the moment :/

    Good luck chaps!

  11. Ronaldo the biggest ace arch Red-Devil striker who is starting today’s match for his Manchester United club side could turnout in the match to be the stumbling block who prevent Arsenal from beating Man Utd today. For, he’s so lethal and almost unplayable when he turns up to get going to score.

But if the Gunners can cage him and bind him, cast him out into the dungeon of the bottomless pit that is in the River Thames. Then Arsenal will beat Manchester United in today’s afternoon match at the Ems. Irrespective of which PGMO anti-Arsenal match referee in the EPL takes charge the proceedings of the match.

  12. Saka is slowly becoming Salah..
He had every attribute to become Salah except scoring penalties
Now he is doing that also…
As we know Salah never Miss penalty

  13. There you go…
    Hé always scores against us
What a cheap goal to concede
    Cancelled out our advantage

    1. They were even denied a clear penalty. Soares took advantage of his fall to scoop the ball. I’ve watched it in slow motion. VAR wouldn’t have disallowed it.

  14. Ramsdale like if your gonna make the decision to move for the ball then you’ve got to get it

  15. Why do we always loose our bottle when we go ahead and stop playing? Making a simple pass now seems impossible for a number of players and Ramsdale is trying to loose us the match.

  16. Our backs and Ramse are shaky, all the rest are doing amazing.

EWSR still relaxing and I’m expecting him to wake up in the second half.

  17. Where has our CBs gone? They are shaky to say the least. Lucky to be 2-1 up but we have to capitalise on utds poor defence.

  18. Ramsdale has got to stay focused. It’s only a matter of time before Man United target Soares’ aerial weakness, so we need to score one more goal to make them panic

  19. It’s great that we’ve scored two goals but we look like we could concede every time Manure attack. There’s more goals coming, it’s just a matter of which team scores them? Very nervous at the back. Ramsdale looks dodgy under pressure. Not sure where this game will go but I’m not that confident we can hold out for a win unless we get a lot tighter and more organised. This defense looks like it’s been together for a matter of hours sometimes..

  20. We are pedestrian , no pressing, can’t pass.

This is 100% about having bottle under pressure.

    Come on Martinelli!

  21. Our defending is shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tavares is almost useless. Hes another Xhaka! Was ESR even playing?

  22. As a matter of facts, our defense has not improve under MA. Either we score few more goals or our defense buck up!

  23. Xhaka!!! He looks up, he shoots, it’s in.
Why did he have to get yellow carded earlier?

  24. Good defensive change by the gaffer. Now we can focus on keeping our shape and being drawn out of position and employ some time-wasting tactics to wind down the clock.

  25. 3rd time in last 2 matches VAR has cheated us of a blatant red card foul for the opponent. But sure no bias according to the ‘experts’ on this site.

  26. It was only a matter of time before we switched to a back 3. I guess we were only waiting till around 70 minutes before making the switch. Making the change too soon could backfire. In an away game, we would have made the change quicker to at least secure a point. Once the third goal was scored, there was no point waiting to switch to a back 3.

  27. Posted on the poll on Arteta instead of here – If any player sums up our decline and current slight rise (next season will be the real test) it’s Granit Xhaka. Happy for him in context and whether you still want him gone there is no denying he is one of the few that has relatively consistently performed under Arteta even with his madness moments. We need to upgrade CM next year, no doubt but what a moment for him and personally I think he’s a good character to have around this young side even if he sees his game time more limited by incomings in the summer.

  28. Kudos to the team.
    Both managers and the players.
But can Arteta actually make different sub from the ones he has been making for a while.
If things haven’t go south, he doesn’t make changes.
Lokonga and pepe couldn’t get a minute in 180minutes plus despite us winning but game and was in advantage stage..
This is poor management no matter how you look at it..
Just like the last 3 matches lose could have been avoided if the right choices were being made.

    1. Pepe was a nailed on starter start of the season and Lokonga started over Elneny prior to our wins (we lost those games if it’s not clear.) You play on merit. Odd statement and conclusion, given the facts. One thing Arteta can not be accused of is being unwilling to change it up when players are off form it’s happened continuously. Martinelli breaking in benched ESR, ode’s bad form early in the season saw him benched, Eddie for Laca, auba being cast out and moved on etc. Cedric keeping his place legitimately on form when Tomi could of been rushed back so on and so on.

      1. This is the problem.
You people never admit when the mistakes is very clear to see.
Arteta himself came out to say he should have given elneny and nketia more game time.
This is not about players being on form or not.
Players are not to sit on the bench for the rest of the season even if they are performing poorly.
You have to give them a game time at some point. Not necessarily a start but you just have to.
Ramsdale, white, gab have all made errors, who replaced them since you are talking of merit.
Why on earth will you put lokonga in ahead of elneny in a 3 consecutive matches..
Tell me the merit lokonga has had for him to have started those 3 game lost ahead of elneny..

Nketia only started because laca allegedly had covid,
Auba was let go because he broke the rules.
None of what you mentioned had anything to do with Merit.
Tell me when laca was dropped when he was fit simply because he is not performing well..

Didn’t tomi was rushed back against pool and that was why it backfired.
This is exactly my point, if something haven’t gone wrong, the manager usually don’t make the right call.

Ode haven’t had any bad game since he came back to the line up? Who replaced him?
Or did Saka has had good game for every match he played this season, who came in his position??

We praise the manager when things are fine and make the right call , he should receive criticism when he doesn’t.

I won’t be surprise you will definitely be in support when he dragged xhaka to left back and left the middle flat while elneny was sitting on the bench..

Damn, majority knew that was the worse call ever, but apparently you wouldn’t see any issue with it .
