RB Leipzig’s failure to qualify for the Champions League next season has left several of their top talents, including Xavi Simons, keen on a move elsewhere.
Some of these stars are eager to join Champions League clubs to continue testing themselves at the highest level.
Simons, in particular, is thought to favour a Premier League switch and not long ago, it was claimed he had been offered to both Arsenal and Chelsea.

While Chelsea appear to have taken up that offer, it has now emerged that Arsenal haven’t.
But why?
Why are Arsenal not challenging Chelsea for Xavi Simons?
Perhaps they are reluctant to negotiate with Leipzig, who reportedly played hardball when the Gunners enquired about Benjamin Šeško.
Either way, Fabrizio Romano has hinted that Chelsea are well-positioned to seal the deal, while revealing the other reason Arsenal haven’t warmed up to this transfer:
“Yes (Simons is on Arsenal’s radar), but Eze is higher on their list and Simons is currently in advanced talks with Chelsea.”

The Simons snub is directly tied to Arsenal’s relentless pursuit of Eberechi Eze.
It has emerged that the Crystal Palace star has told those close to him that he is moving to Arsenal.
Just Arsenal relayed reports that a four-year deal and a £55 million offer from the Gunners is already prepared.
Arsenal prioritise Eze as the ‘win-now’ option
Simons could have been a shrewd signing, arguably a younger version of Eze, a proven low-block killer.
But why Eze?
Arsenal may have prioritised a “win-now” transfer over betting on Simons’ potential.
According to The Independent, “Arsenal’s preference is to sell a player before finalising the Eze deal, but the signing isn’t contingent on that.”
They claim Reiss Nelson, who looks fired up ahead of next season, could be offered as part of the package to bring Eze to the Emirates.
Like Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta, would you have prioritised Eze over Simons?

I would say Simons is so similar to Eze in the question: what exactly is his best position? Another magician without a position in the system? Ode didn’t get rolling into the best of form last season, but if he’s fit and playing well, neither Eze or Simons get adequate game time, that’s even before considering the game time Ethan needs.
I think scoopsters wrong on this one, it don’t feel Ars are that hot or all in on Eze.
Siemons is one of the most promising players coming through alongside Bukayo Saka in world football, yes hes Bukayo Sakas level, I remember seeing him play at PSV on loan from Barcelona, hes going to be a top player but he has an attitude problem which Mikel Arteta would not get on with, he can be known to be a sulker a bit like Arjen Robben in his days, he also has a poor discipline at times like Guendouzi but no were as bad a Guendouzi, Eze is proven and will be a perfect fit for Arsenal, Eze right now is what we need, taking a gamble on Siemons is not something i want even though i think Siemons is goign to be a world class player no doubt.
they should add martinell to the transfer list too,honesty I don’t know what motive is being keeping him , it’s disgracful and criminal that a basic player like matinelli graces the turf of our great club. I hope we get Simon but I don’t think we’ll get him especially now that chelshit wants him

MA came out this week backing the player and insisting he’s part of the squad.
Simons is fast becoming one of the many Arsenal “what ifs” along with the likes of Sesko and Williams to name but two.
It certainly looks like Eze is the priority, but it appears, not that surprisingly given all the “transfers in” recently, that he’ll probably only arrive if/when Arsenal can shed a player or two.
I will prefer an Eze to Simons anyday considering our need for for a proven EPL that may impact almost immediately.
