Arsenal has been closely monitoring Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane as he approaches the end of his contract with the German club. The highly talented winger, whose contract situation suggests he may be set to leave Bayern this summer, is expected to attract attention from several top clubs. Sane has established himself as one of Europe’s elite wingers, with his performances in the Bundesliga and his previous stint in the Premier League at Manchester City. This combination of skill, experience, and familiarity with the English game makes him a highly appealing target for Arsenal, especially given Mikel Arteta’s past connection with Sane during their time together at City.
Arteta’s history with Sane could provide Arsenal with an edge in the competition for his signature. Arteta, who worked as an assistant coach to Pep Guardiola at City, was part of the coaching staff that helped Sane flourish. The prospect of reuniting with Arteta might appeal to Sane, particularly as Arsenal’s style of play has been shaped to resemble that of the Guardiola-influenced City setup, with a focus on quick, wide, attacking play. Adding a player of Sane’s calibre would strengthen Arsenal’s offensive options and bring in a player already accustomed to the type of tactical framework that Arteta is building at the Emirates.
However, competition is fierce. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Manchester United is also showing strong interest in signing Sane. The Red Devils are actively looking to bolster their attack, and Sane would represent a high-profile addition that could improve their current squad. United’s involvement could complicate Arsenal’s plans, as both clubs would likely offer competitive financial packages to secure the winger’s services. Given Sane’s pedigree, he is likely to receive additional interest from other elite clubs, increasing the pressure on Arsenal to present an attractive proposition both financially and in terms of the club’s ambitions.
If Arsenal can convince Sane to join, his addition would be a significant boost. Not only is he a proven, dynamic winger with pace and technical prowess, but he also has the experience of winning major titles. For Arsenal, securing a player of his quality would underscore their intentions to compete for top honours domestically and in Europe. However, with multiple clubs likely to enter the race, the Gunners must move decisively and offer Sane a compelling vision of his role in an ambitious project at the Emirates.

Utd are reported to be after another potential Arsenal target, Goykeres, as well. If their owners make substantial funds available to the new coach, Utd could cause problems for some transfer plans Arsenal may have post-Edu.
Sane is a class player but he is 29 in January. That does not make him old but his best years are probably behind him. Even if the price is right, the wages will be high.
