Martinelli calls for togetherness after Arsenal loses another match

Arsenal’s recent form has caused concern among their supporters, particularly after their second consecutive loss, this time to Inter Milan. In both matches, Mikel Arteta’s side has struggled to find the back of the net, despite creating chances. These defeats, especially with Arsenal being unable to score, have left fans worried that the team is not living up to its potential, considering the quality of players in their squad.

The loss to Inter Milan, while disappointing, showed signs of improvement from their weekend defeat to Newcastle, but ultimately, the result was the same—another narrow loss. Arsenal’s inability to score in both games has highlighted an area that needs immediate attention. With Chelsea up next, the Gunners need to find a way to get back to winning ways, and Gabriel Martinelli has urged the team to stay united.

Martinelli calls for unity

In the face of adversity, Martinelli remains confident in the squad’s ability to bounce back, emphasising the importance of solidarity. “We know about the quality of our team, of the players we have,” he said in an interview with TNT Sports Brasil. He believes that doubting themselves or their teammates will not help, and insists that football has its ups and downs. “There are times when you don’t score so many goals. Or someone is not doing so well. I think we have to keep doing what we’ve been doing for the last two or three years. We have a very good team. So, we believe in ourselves. I’m sure we’ll get back on top.”

Despite the tough moment Arsenal are experiencing, Martinelli’s message is clear: staying together as a team is key to overcoming this challenging spell. Unity and trust in the process will be vital if Arsenal are to get back to winning ways and challenge for titles in the months ahead. If the squad continues to support each other and focus on their strengths, they are confident that their good form will return.

  1. Martinelli calls for togetherness, maybe if he concentrated on his finishing, Arsenal would have a better chance of stringing some wins together.

Sadly from what I’m seeing, he’s become a one trick pony, and opponents have worked him out.

Add that to the likes of Jesus, Sterling and sadly I’m going to add Trossard to that list to, as he only seems to shine when coming on from the bench.

And although Havertz has done better than I thought he would, I’m still not convinced by him on the whole.

Doesn’t look good for Arsenal does it.

    1. @Derek,
Lets hope this match will be the turning point and Arsenal do win. As I have mentioned below, scoring goals has been our major problem and hopefully Arteta makes tactical and personnel changes so that we score more goals and our attack gets back into what it was last season. Surely, we do need a out and out striker and I hope Arsenal sign a striker and /or a attacking midfielder in January.

  2. It is indeed good words from Martinelli but I hope words translate into action and we beat Chelsea this weekend. Scoring goals has been a major problem recently and hopefully Martinelli, Saka, Havertz and Jesus are amongst goals and if Odegaard plays it will be great because he is vital to the creativity aspect of the team.

    1. Gunnerforlife,

Don’t we say all these things before every game. Who knows, one day the likes of Martinelli, Jesus, Sterling, Trossard, and Havertz may get a shot on target. I know I might be being a bit optimistic there, but everyone needs dreams don’t they?.

  3. Right now Martinelli, Jesus & Sterling are not contributing enough to score goals I.e 3 of our highly paid players. The 2 of the these 3 have done better before so hopefully they reproduce that for at least for few months.
Martinelli needs to look at himself first & improve. He is the same player he was 3 years back
