Official Arsenal line up to face Liverpool – Ozil starts

Official team news โ€“ Ozil back in the Arsenal line up to face Liverpool.

Massive game for Unai Emery this evening against Liverpool. Lose badly and the pressure on him to go will be immense. Go down fighting and there may be hope yet for the Spaniard. Win and it could kick-start the season for Arsenal and in turn, Emery.

Both managers have made significant changes from their weekend teams and that may well work to Arsenalโ€™s advantage.

Ozil finally gets a recall to the senior team and hopefully, the German will put in a fine performance.

    Trying to appease the fan base after our last match.
    So let’s be honest, anybody really expecting Ozil to just suddenly hit top form and perform when he’s been out for over a month and according to pur coach, he doesn’t train well enough.
    Anybody suddenly expecting him to gain match fitness and hit form??

  11. Willock and Nile are not arsenal quality. We are already 2 men down even before the game begins.

    I just pity our fragike defence because our mid field is porous already.

  15. I like the team, however, since day one iv never rated willock, Nelson and AMN. Would like to see Pepe come in for Niles and Ceballos for Willock.
    With these two changes, this team is very beatable. Their only strength is in Midfield. If we can boss the midfield, we can beat then but again I don’t see willock as a match enough for lalana. AMN, isn’t a match on the wing for a makeshift aged Milner. Those two are our only week points

  18. WHY is Maitland Niles playing? Emery is not the brightest bulb in the football chandelier. Good to see Martinelli playing. We look a bit soft though.

    Its psg all over again where neymar and others bullied Emery into decisions and formations.
    Hence arsenal picking their own captain now out crowd shouting for ozil and here he is not in the bench but starting.
    The guy enery is confused and out of his depth. #poor management skills.
    Ps hope ozil does well though.

    1. OK here is the confusion. Your first comment was on the PREDICTED Line up which is in black and white.
      On the OFFICIAL Line up everyone links to the message from Arsenal’s official twitter feed. It just appears normal to most people. You don’t have to click on anything.

    Weird game few weeks ago MU were ruined in bits and we were okay like was looking good with cebalos.
    Now MU looking better us well where to start!

  46. Good to see Ozil play, and well his vision and football brain is still kicking. If only other players feed him the ball more rather than attempting those atrocious through ball attempts that they simply lack the skill for. Just funnel those balls through him and the chances will come more.

  71. We’ve had 2-goal margin lead twice in this game. And we’ve blown them both.

    If you add Watford, Sheffield Utd, etc you can summarize what out defence is all about.

  87. Donโ€™t blame Emery for the sub on Ozil. It was a hard decision. Liverpool turned on heat. At that time you had to make up your mind to prevent a goal rush or maintain stability. Emery has achieved that to an extent with Gandouzi and Cabellos….sorry itโ€™s hard but Ozil will not give you same coverage as Gandouzi……but I agree…Ozil has had a GREAT game already.
