Video: Tony Adams documentary shows how lucky Arsenal were to have him

Tony Adams was in my opinion, the best captain Arsenal has had in my lifetime, and I struggle to believe that my opinion will change ever.

The defender was a born leader, the type who would lead by example and tell you straight just where you had done wrong.

Adams became club captain at the just 21 years-old, having matured beyond his years after making debut just four years earlier.

Adams wouldn’t fit in with the new Premier League however, with such strong tackling and aggression no longer acceptable, and this is partly why I doubt we’ll ever enjoy the presence of his ilk ever again.

Which other players deserve to rank amongst Arsenal’s best captains? Would Adams fit in today’s game?
