England played their final game of the international break on Tuesday and an Arsenal man was on target for his first Three Lions goal. Four Arsenal players had been called up for September’s round of international fixtures. Declan Rice, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke all made the Three Lions squad for the World Cup qualifiers and started the 2-0 win over Andorra. In the most recent game against Serbia, Eze was dropped to the bench, while Lewis-Skelly was the only player left out of the matchday squad by Thomas Tuchel. Nonetheless, the Three Lions registered a commanding win, thrashing the Serbs 5-0. Rice and Madueke made goal contributions in the game, with the latter even scoring his first goal for England.
Madueke opens his account in style
Arsenal’s £52 million summer signing opened his account in style, finishing off a lovely team move with a clever finish to double their lead in the 35th minute. The game was his ninth cap for the national team and it will carry personal significance for the rest of his career. His goal came after he was criticised by Tuchel following the game against Andorra, something that will only boost his confidence heading into the resumption of club football. Declan Rice was also a standout performer for England yet again, assisting two of their five goals against Serbia.
Arsenal return awaits
The arrival of Madueke was questioned by a small section of the fanbase in the summer, but the former PSV man is quickly winning them over just a month into the new campaign. He has featured in all three Arsenal games so far, starting the last two and impressing in each of those matches. He was arguably our best attacking player outright against Liverpool. The key will be consistency for the former Chelsea man, while the quality of his performances will need to improve further as well. Arsenal’s first game back after the international break is a tie against Nottingham Forest. Madueke will likely reprise his role on the right flank as Bukayo Saka continues to nurse an injury. Off the back of two solid performances over the break, the Barnet-born winger will be raring to go and hopefully continue his rich vein of form.

Yeah I heard about Madueke; mentality at the level of Ronaldo and a rival says he is just as good as Saka.
Simply amazing that some people are able to speak with such confidence after 3 club games and 2 national team games.
Talented player with big upside, but can we calm down and give him some time before trying to predict the future?
On the other side of the coin, he was labelled as another chelsea reject before he’d even kicked a ball in the famous red and white jersey!.
We have such a diverse set of opinions on JA and yet it always seems to boil down to two camps, either yay or nay! /

We all support Arsenal so we should have some middle ground on here and also accept people have different opinions without insults
I have no issue us buying form any team so long as the player is good and wants to play for Arsenal…Madueke looks good potential and you will always pay a premium for English players due to the rules.

Gyokeres is looking like a bust to some, Mosquera is the next gem, Madueke threatens Saka’s spot, Martinelli is a dead man walking, List goes on.
Don’t worry though, after a game or 2 everything will be the opposite, for a while at least.
At this point Ken, I just hope to watch an entertaining game of football when they play, slick passing and movement to get me out of my seat.
I think I will pause on judging players, at least until the 10 game mark; give them a chance to show something beyond a 1 or 2 match performance. I know how crazy that sounds, by the way.

It is amusing sometimes when those two camps don’t even seem to realize that the other may exist. It’s annoying when their arrogance makes them profess that their opinion somehow rises to the level of indisputable fact. That chelsea reject thing has seemed to be a rather poor reason for rejecting an incoming player out of hand.
Actually, what you find is that the naysayers predominate and go overboard in their negativity. It’s quite false to imply that there is an equal number of overly positive pundits or fans.

Depends on what you see as positive versus negative David.
There are those, such as yourself, who brings out negativity by always being positive.
Likewise, someone who is always negative creates positivity, such as, say, konstantine, who’s articles bring out the positivity in others.
The inbetweeners are those who can see both sides of the coin.
In what way have I always been positive? Can you give any examples? Or are you saying this because I don’t fall in line with the ridiculous narratives that people come up with on this site?
Some fans regularly run down the club, the manager and any players they dislike. Have you ever seen any comparable outlandish comments in the opposite direction that I have made?
What some of you also don’t realise is that engaging in bothsidesism is not a virtue and allows poorly thought through narratives to gain unnecessary traction.
