Let’s buy cover it’s a long season
If we are getting someone who will be closer to Saka in term of output and threat then yes definitely. But Martinelli still has a place in the squad and can win back his place.
The million dollars question is has he peaked or can he still improve? if it’s the former then we should sell him at his most valuable and invest in a better player.
On last seasons form, yes definitely. We ain’t winning no league with that performance. He can be a menace, sometimes but his decision making is terrible and he is so wasteful. Not got enough quality.
He has little to no end product.If he can’t create assists and consistently fails to hot the target (score goals) …Then he becomes yet another Arsenal forward who works very hard…particularly defensively yet fails to do what he’s on the pitch to do.
He will of course have the odd more successful performance.Last Season.these were few and far between.Especially against the “Deep Block”.Unfortunately I think that Madueke is very similar and his output will be similar.
Thats why Eze should have bern purchased as he would have offered something different.This being greater end product in terms of creativity and attempts on goal that are actually on target..
Feel sorry for Martinelli. The role of the left wing forward has completely changed with our left back tucking in to midfield. Add to that rice being pushed forward into that area the onus is on Maritnelli to do a lot of tracking back. IMHO he played his best stuff with Tierney making overlapping runs.
Our whole attack was poor or injured last season, yet GM is being made the scapegoat despite comparable numbers. And when he came back from injury while Havertz and Saka were out with Odegaard struggling for form he was crucial in getting the ball out of our half and staying a threat on the break. Keeping him and bringing in a player to compete with him is definitely the smartest move.
There is only one ball on the pitch at a time and Martinelli is typically in the 10 goal a season productivity region; which is very good for a Premier League winger.
Last season he scored 8, which is a little above average, with 4 assists in about 2,200 minutes. Bukayo Saka, considered Arsenal’s best player, scored 6 goals and tallied 11 assists in 1,700 minutes. Leandro Trossard, who shared time with Martinelli at left wing and Kai Havertz at center forward, scored 8 goals and tallied 8 assists in 2,500 minutes.
Expecting significantly higher productivity than Maritnelli typically delivers from a left winger when Arsenal are going to direct the majority of the chances to Victor Gyokeres or Bukayo Saka is unrealistic. With e Noni Madueke already on the books, signing a new left winger suggests either Martinelli or Trossard would leave.
I sincerely don’t think there are many Left sided attackers out there that are better than Martinelli; NOT even Rodrygo is! – may be ONLY Kvaratskhelia, Luiz Diaz and Raphinha are!
That attack is complete with Gyokeres, the Manager just needs to get the rest of the squad playing to Gyokeres’ strengths and we’ll be unstoppable!

I think Martinelli is still good value, and just needs an alternative like Madueke when necessary. I can’t see much of a future for Trossard if he does stay.
He will get better with age and also Madueke competing with him for LW spot
Martinelli’s asset is his speed ,frequently he has seemed to run out of room but in reality he has got to the danger area before the rest of the team and was forced either to hold up and pass inside or go it alone .
With a target now we may well see the best of him providing that he is fed quickly before the retreating defences get back
When you people run out of excuse for martinelli then let me know. Letz be honest can u see any top team in Europe bidding or eyeing martinelli. If we go trophyless again because of our predictable style of play due to inactiveness of the LW. I hope ya’ll won’t be shouting arteta out, coz if u people can be fine with a mediocre player like martinelli then 2nd,3rd or 4th position should be more than acceptable
Martinelli is coming in for a lot of criticism directly before our season begins. I’ve said I wanted a new wide forward, but I would expect Martinelli to fight for his place, and who knows, maybe even win his fight. The season is about to start, so don’t let trolls try to derail our season
As if often pointed out, Martinelli doesn’t get the support he had when Xhaka & Tierney were also helping him.
Arteta’s removal of Zinchenko from left full back negatively affected Martinelli
The first season Zinchenko entered, he was our best creative player and Martinelli scored 15 goals while operating from the left of attack while our top striker( Gabriel Jesus) was a right footer. Gyokeres is expected to continue from where Gabriel Jesus stopped by reviving Martinelli, but Arteta’s hasty move to sell Zinchenko is very dangerous
Magalhaes, Saliba and White do cover him up defensively while also Martinelli falls back to assist. Zinchenko is better than Odegaard in terms of creativity.
