Rodri tells Arsenal and Liverpool how Man City are going to win the title race

Manchester City are still confident about their chances of winning the Premier League title. This is clear from Rodri’s latest claim about the title race where he declares how many games his City side need to secure a fourth title in a row.

It is obvious that the winner of the Premier League will either be Arsenal, Liverpool, or Manchester City. With 10 games to go, the Gunners lead the title charge with 64 points. Liverpool, though on the same points as the Gunners, are second due to fewer goals, and Manchester City are third, a point behind the two.

The title race is as open as it can be; it can go anyway. And Rodri warns Arsenal and Liverpool that City are going to win it like they’ve always done. He acknowledges that the break from the league has come at the right time; they’ll play their FA Cup clash with Newcastle, then take time to recharge and come back fresh for their famous last-minute relentless run for the league. He says they’re going to go for it, with the target being to pick nine wins out of 10 with the hope that it will be enough to win the league.

“We need a break. We have the FA Cup game (against Newcastle) and then go to the international teams so it will be good for us to refresh and give the last push at the end of the season,” Rodri said via the BBC.

“We know how good we are in the last part of the season, we just need to charge the batteries again and focus on the last 10 games. It seems you have to win nine or 10 games to win this Premier League. This is the challenge and we are going to go for it.”

If that’s not a warning to Arsenal and Liverpool, then I don’t know what it is. That said, it is worth noting that after the international break, the first game for the Cityzens is against our Arsenal.

Considering that Man City are currently in third place, then surely it stands to reason that all Arsenal and Liverpool need to do is to also win their remaining games to stop Pep’s men from retaining the trophy.

So our Gunners simply need to stun them and beat them for the third time this season. This should hopefully throw off their balance and confidence and give our Gunners the chance to have some momentum and believe that we can win all our games until the end as well.

Arsenal can only try to win as many as nine games in the remaining 10 league games; hopefully that will be enough to win the league.

It is certainly set to be a rollercoaster end to the season, no doubt about it.

  1. We will see if other teams will be sleeping on the pitch when they play ManCity. Liverpool and Arsenal will give a fight. It’s open to the 3 teams atop. Arsenal hold no fear for City they been beaten twice this season by Gunners. And they almost lost to Liverpool on Sunday.

    1. He may be right until he is proven wrong. Actually we should be able to do what we have never done before to win the league. We should be able to get maximum points against manu, city, chelsea, tottenham, villa and brighton and though we are near the top with 10 games remaining, we still has mountain to climb. So its upto us to prove him wrong.

  2. Just for the record. We have not beaten them twice during the full time. We have won once and drawn once in the Community (albeit a win on penalties).
I would take a gritty draw right now against City away.
Realistically, the best we can hope for is 7 wins and 3 draws and that is a tall order. That would be 88 points. Hope that this is enough to win the PL.

  3. Whatever you say Rodri.

Winning at Etihad is possible and would be beyond fantastic, however our main goal should be to NOT lose as we can’t afford City to gain points over us.

Fun fact, Man City has ZERO wins against the current top 5 of Pool, Arsenal, Spurs, Villa. It’s very doable.

Fun fact 2, we have conceded ZERO goals at home in the CL this season, no..?

  4. ‘Don’t count your chicken before they are hatch ‘ seems like this term doesn’t apply to the Citizens, they have become so greedy trying to turn the competition into a one team league similar to PSG in France.

  5. Wow, they have so many layers helping them. Will they be downgraded or champions again? It’s about time to get a conclusion of the 115 charges against them.

      1. It’s about a fair and transparent competition. We need a conclusion not only accusations 🔴⚪️

    1. The charges are not going to be heard by the Commission until Autumn this year, unless City’s lawyers can delay them further, and the results given the following summer (2025). So any “downgrading” will take place then and not before, But expect multi appeals to hold the process up for years and years.

  6. We have definitely the toughest remaining fixtures among top three. It want be easy, but I’m optimistic about the outcome.

We will probably have to win at least eight of the last 10 games, and we needs to get points from difficult away games too.

    1. The theory would suggest you are correct, but playing against team fighting for their life at the bottom can be as hard as a door nail.

      1. Absolutely, but I’m afraid that 24 points could be too little, so why not win all of the remaining games 😎

  7. We sit at the top and our fate is completely in our hands.

If we handle our business and the pressure, doesn’t matter what City and Liverpool do.

IMHO the next step for this team and club is handling the pressure and winning the PL.

We are full of talent, top top defense, and a top class club. The only thing left to show is the mentality to overcome the pressure and win.

    1. We won the league at Anfield,
We won it at the lane,
      Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford,
No one can say the same.
      Mikel Arteta’s army,
      We’re Arsenal through and through,
We’ll sing it in the North Bank,
And in the Clock End too.
      Allez Allez, Allez.

  8. Jax,thats a topic for another day but we (AFC) are slowly following their blue print. I just hope the KROENKES have very good lawyers like city.

  9. CITY WILL BE REGRETING THE DRAWS AGAINST crystal Palace inside ETIHAD, draw against Spurs inside Etihad and even Chelsea when Haaland lost the sense of scoring goals add those six points to City’s 63 and the story will be different
if they miss it by may they will come back to those games and ask themselves questions. Other teams are fortifying and going for same trophy

    1. But, if they win it, they will look at those draws as good results. Lets hope we dont look at our home defeat to West Ham and the away defeat to Fulham and lose the league by one or two points because we didn’t draw them? The best team will win the league regardless.

  10. The earlier RODRI and his mates know they’re not retaining the league tittle, the better for them. Their inclusion to make a three horse race makes for an interesting race though, so it’s worth a try from them.
